You will review assets and accounts for a firm, help prepare a statement or report, coordinate with a bank to provide any necessary documentation, and answer questions from clients or customers.\n\nEssential Functions:\n\nPrepare clear and concise work‐papers with definitive conclusions.\n\nPrepare meaningful and well written recommendations for inclusion in client correspondence.\n\nApply accounting principles and auditing procedures to audit and accounting engagements.\n\nWork on low‐ to medium‐risk areas of audit and/or accounting engagements.\n\nEffectively complete other tasks as assigned by their supervisor.\n\nFollowing firm and professional standards.\n\nAssisting with the substantive areas of the audit, including cash, accounts payable and expense testing, among others.\n\nAssisting with internal control walk-throughs and documentation.\n\nPreparing clear and concise workpapers with appropriate documentation and conclusions.\n\nFollow regulations and professional ethics of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) and Missouri Society of Certified Public Accountants (MSCPA).\n\nBe familiar with the pronouncements of the Financial Accounting Standards Board, Government Accounting Standards Board the AICPA, such as the Statements on Auditing Standards and statements of Financial Accounting Standards.\n\nDemonstrate the ability to formulate alternatives when unable to solve problems.\n\nAnticipate problems and issues and keep the in-charge/partner informed of engagement status.\n\nEffectively apply information technology tools in assigned areas.\nQualifications and Skills:\n\nA minimum of a bachelor’s degree in accounting\nActively pursuing a licensed Certified Public Accountant (CPA)\nProficiency with the Microsoft Office suite and Adobe software platforms.\nWord processing, use of spreadsheets, email, document management and calendaring programs is required.\n\nExcellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.\n\nExceptional attention to detail and accuracy, with a focus on delivering high-quality results.\n\nStrong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams.\n\nAnalytical mindset with problem-solving abilities.\n\nAbility to work independently and handle multiple projects simultaneously.\n\nPerformance Expectations:\n\nAdhere to all firm policies and procedures, as outlined in the Associate Handbook.\n\nBe pleasant, courteous, and helpful with staff and clients.\n\nBe efficient and organized when carrying out tasks.\n\nMaintain a neat and organized work environment for maximum efficiency and productivity.\n\nMaintain strict confidentiality of all client and business transactions.\n\nEffectively manage numerous tasks and projects.\n\nDemonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills.\n\nDemonstrate a professional attitude and support a teamwork-oriented environment.\n\nDevelop positive working relationships with clients and co-workers.\n\nMust have exceptional attendance.\n\nProfessional Development:\n\nAudit Staff are expected to develop professionally by:\n\nDisplaying progress towards completing CPA certification.\n\nParticipating in continuing professional education.\n\nResearching and reading professional and technical resources independently.\n\nAccepting additional responsibility as assigned.\n\nPhysical Requirements:\n\nProlonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.\n\nMust be able to lift 25 – 50 pounds at times.\nTravel, both overnight and during the day, is required.\n\nExtended hours are required at certain times throughout the year, depending on client needs.\n\nKeep in mind that the specific responsibilities and requirements of the Audit Staff may vary depending on the
