Located in the heart of the central business district and adjacent to the City of Norfolk's world-class waterfront and festival site, Waterside District is a central gathering place for local residents and visitors.\r\nAudio Visual Technician Responsibilities\r\nSet up and install equipment such as microphones, sound speakers, video screens, projectors, video monitors, recording equipment, connecting wires and cables, sound and mixing boards for events and functions such as concerts, meetings, and presentations.\r\nSet up and operate sound equipment.\r\nSet up and operate spotlights.\r\nConfer with meeting or concert director to establish cues and directions.\r\nCreate and install custom lighting systems.\r\nMonitor sound feeds to ensure quality.\r\nEnsure equipment is installed according to designated layout.\r\nTest and resolve equipment issues.\r\nDiagnose and correct media system problems.\r\nCoordinate audio feeds with television images.\r\nMix sound inputs and feeds.\r\nFix or send in equipment for repairs as needed and approved.\r\nClean audio and video equipment and store properly.\r\nEnsure the safe transfer and shipment of equipment.\r\nMaintain inventory of equipment.\r\nReport all unsafe conditions or malfunctioning equipment to supervisor.
