LACT Technician
POSITION SUMMARY:The LACT Technician safely and efficiently operates crude oil measurement, custody transfer, tank gauging and meter proving as directed by his/her Field Supervisor.JOB FUNCTIONS AND KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:Take oil samples and perform routine grind outs to measure sediment and water content and determine qualityPerform tank gauging to measure tank contents and account for product stored and product moved into and out of tanksPrepare custody transfer tickets, manage tickets and perform month-end closingHand gauging field tanks accurately and purchasing lease crude with field custody transfer ticketsCommunicate with field pumpers assigned to third party production companiesPerform routine field LACT (Lease Automatic Custody Transfer) equipment checksResponsible for daily one calls, pipeline crossings and right of way workPerform routine daily maintenance tasks, such as running pipeline scrapersRegular and reliable attendance is requiredMINIMUM ESSENTIAL QUALIFACTIONS: Minimum High School Diploma or EquivalentMust have or be able to acquire a Commercial Driver's License with a clean driving recordMaintain a valid driver's license to include a safe driving record satisfactory to the companyMust have, or be able to acquire, Operator Qualification (OQ) Certification for valve and pump station maintenance and repair per DOT requirements for pipeline operatorsMust have or become trained in OSHA's Hazardous Waste Operations and Emergency Response (HAZWOPER) Standard and be able to perform spill response duties, if requiredSolid computer skills to include Microsoft Office SoftwarePrevious petroleum industry or oil field experience is strongly desiredAbility to perform routine and corrective maintenance on pipeline valves and pump station equipment.Must have a mechanical aptitudeInterpersonal communication skills are required in order to interface with all affected teams, personnel, and vendorsAn organized and detail-oriented self-starter with a strong work ethicAbility to work self-sufficiently given direction and resourcesWell-grounded, preferring to work in a collegial and team environmentAbility to think critically, solve problems independently and exercise excellent judgmentPREFERRED QULAIFICATIONS: Minimum 1-3 years of work-related experienceAssociate's degree (A.A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school and/or trainingEQUAL EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITY:Targa Resources provides equal employment opportunities based on merit, experience, and other work-related criteria and without regard to race, color, ethnicity, religion, national origin, sex, age, pregnancy, disability, veteran status, or any other status protected by applicable law.
