This role is responsible for establishing secure, scalable, and compliant container platforms leveraging AWS ECS, OpenShift, or Kubernetes-based solutions. The engineer will lead container hardening efforts, implement infrastructure‑as‑code and automation strategies, and ensure alignment with federal security frameworks including RMF and ATO requirements. This position plays a critical role in enabling reliable, high‑availability platforms that support large‑scale, mission‑critical workloads serving millions of users.\n\nDuties And Responsibilities\n\nDeploy, configure, and manage container orchestration platforms including AWS ECS, OpenShift, or Kubernetes in production environments.\n\nEvaluate and harden vendor‑supplied container images to meet federal security and compliance requirements.\n\nImplement container security controls aligned to CIS benchmarks, STIGs, and federal baseline standards.\n\nConfigure and manage container orchestration constructs such as task definitions, services, deployments, and operators.\n\nManage full container lifecycle including image versioning, patching, updates, and rollback procedures.\n\nDesign and implement container networking including service discovery, ingress/egress controls, and secure communication patterns.\n\nDevelop and maintain infrastructure‑as‑code solutions using Terraform or AWS CloudFormation for container platform provisioning.\n\nImplement CI/CD and GitOps workflows to support automated, auditable deployment pipelines.\n\nEstablish configuration baselines, drift detection, and repeatable deployment patterns to support enterprise‑scale environments.\n\nPerform container vulnerability scanning and remediation using enterprise security tools.\n\nImplement runtime security controls including isolation, resource constraints, and least‑privilege access models.\n\nConfigure secure secrets management solutions using AWS Secrets Manager, HashiCorp Vault, or equivalent tools.\n\nDesign and implement high availability and resilience strategies including multi‑AZ deployments and failover mechanisms.\n\nImplement auto‑scaling policies based on workload demand and performance metrics.\n\nDevelop disaster recovery strategies and backup solutions for containerized workloads.\n\nCreate and maintain operational runbooks, SOPs, and technical documentation supporting RMF compliance and ATO processes.\n\nIntegrate container platforms with enterprise monitoring and logging solutions.\n\nTroubleshoot performance issues, deployment failures, and system constraints across container environments.\n\nCollaborate with development, security, networking, and data teams to support containerized application delivery.\n\nParticipate in architecture reviews and provide technical guidance on container platform best practices.\n\nKnowledge And Skills Required\n\n5–7 years of experience in systems engineering, DevOps, cloud engineering, or infrastructure roles, including at least 3 years of hands‑on experience with container platforms (AWS ECS, Kubernetes, or OpenShift) in production environments.\n\nHands‑on experience implementing container security controls including image scanning, hardening, and vulnerability remediation.\n\nExperience applying CIS benchmarks, STIGs, and federal security requirements to containerized environments.\n\nProficiency with infrastructure‑as‑code tools such as Terraform or AWS CloudFormation.\n\nExperience implementing CI/CD pipelines and GitOps workflows for infrastructure and application deployments.\n\nKnowledge of container networking concepts including ingress controllers, service mesh, and network policies.\n\nExperience with AWS cloud services including EC2, VPC, IAM, CloudWatch, and load balancing solutions.\n\nStrong scripting and automation skills using Python, Bash, or PowerShell.\n\nExperience with Linux system administration including performance tuning and security hardening.\n\nUnderstanding of NIST 800‑53 security controls and RMF processes.\n\nAbility to troubleshoot complex distributed systems and containerized workloads.\n\nStrong written and verbal communication skills for documentation and cross‑team coordination.\n\nKnowledge And Skills Desired\n\nExperience supporting federal or DoD environments with ATO accreditation processes.\n\nFamiliarity with container security platforms such as Prisma Cloud, Aqua Security, or Twistlock.\n\nExperience with service mesh technologies such as Istio or AWS App Mesh.\n\nKnowledge of advanced container runtime security and zero‑trust architectures.\n\nExperience implementing immutable infrastructure and advanced GitOps methodologies.\n\nFamiliarity with enterprise monitoring platforms such as Dynatrace, Splunk, or DataDog.\n\nExperience supporting large‑scale, high‑availability systems serving enterprise user bases.\n\nUnderstanding of enterprise data processing or ETL workloads within containerized environments.\n\nEducation\n\nBachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline.\n\nRelevant certifications and demonstrated experience may substitute for formal education.\n\nClearance\n\nMust be able to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance.\n\nWork Location\n\nRemote\n\nThis position requires U.S. citizenship or Green Card.\n\nEqual Employment Opportunity\nTechnatomy Corporation is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
