The Senior Project Engineer is responsible for conducting engineering assessments, cost estimates, design requirements and execution of capital projects. This position works closely with plant management/corporate functions on development of project scope, process design, capital and expense estimates, contractor/vendor selection, equipment specifications and purchases, implementation timeline and coordination of execution plans. The Senior Project Engineer reviews deliverables prepared by construction team.\n\nHow you will contribute to collective success:\n\nApply company methodologies and enforce project standards.\n\nMinimize expenses and risks of project.\n\nEnforce safety standards and construction best practices.\n\nTrack and report team hours and expenses.\n\nPrepare process designs, equipment specifications and capital estimates for process upgrades, modifications to existing systems and installation / commissioning of new assets.\n\nEnsure capital projects are consistent with code and compliance requirements\n\nProvide methods, equipment recommendations and standard operating practices to optimize processes and meet product specifications.\n\nFacilitate training as necessary. Conduct plant assessments to identify asset deficiencies; execute corrective action as required.\n\nWork with plant management/corporate functions on project planning involving business growth / innovation, quality improvement, and safety.\n\nMaintain an understanding of and compliance with all Quality Assurance policies, and immediate reporting of any potential food safety issues to management.\n\nCoordinate implementation, write technical specifications, prepare plans and quotes, and allocate contracts for capital expenditure projects.\n\nRegularly communicate with on-site contractors to instruct, guide and answer questions.\n\nTroubleshoot problems with production and takes corrective action or proposes necessary capital projects to correct.\n\nPrepare and closely manage project budgets to ensure projects are completed on time and within budget.\n\nPerform cost/benefit analysis for various design alternatives.\n\nInterface with vendors to evaluate material and equipment selections.\n\nInterface with suppliers for field support of various equipment and systems.\n\nAssist in plant start-up and commissioning activities.\n\nSupport environmental permitting and dairy manufacturing compliance.\n\nThe type of team player who fits in:\n\n5 -10 years experience in large capital project engineering, project management.\n\nExperience in dairy, food, or sanitary processes strongly preferred.\n\nBachelor’s Degree in Engineering or similar degree/experience required.\n\nA role for those who know that the best results are built through teamwork.\n\nAll qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, disability, or status as a protected veteran.\n\nAgropur welcomes people from all backgrounds and origins.
