This role is ideal for an engineer or technical professional with 5–10 years of experience in related industries who is ready to apply their process expertise within a client-facing, solution-driven sales environment.\r\nYou will lead the development of engineered system concepts that deliver performance, reliability, and long-term operational value, while ensuring alignment between customer expectations, technical feasibility, and Qualtech's execution capabilities.\r\nYou will work closely with project managers, automation teams, fabrication groups, and clients to develop turnkey solutions, manage technical-commercial alignment throughout the sales process, and successfully close turnkey projects.\r\nWHY THIS ROLE IS CAREER-DEFINING\r\nThis position offers direct exposure to\r\nTurnkey industrial hygienic process systems\r\nEarly-stage plant design and process optimization\r\nTechnical advisory influence on capital project decisions\r\nClient-facing leadership in solution development\r\nSuccessful candidates become trusted technical advisors for leading food and dairy producers, helping define project scope, system architecture, and long-term processing strategies.\r\nKEY RESPONSIBILITIES\r\nHealth, Safety and Quality\r\nPromote safe practices during plant visits and technical assessments\r\nClient & Technical Leadership\r\nPartner with customers to define process challenges, operational goals, and improvement opportunities\r\nLead technical discussions focused on production capacity, efficiency, sanitation, and automation\r\nGuide customers toward integrated system solutions aligned with plant realities\r\nSupport early technical feasibility assessments\r\nSolution Development\r\nTranslate client requirements into conceptual process system solutions (PFDs)\r\nCollaborate with engineering teams to develop layouts, system architectures, and P&ID concepts\r\nEnsure technical clarity between sales scope and engineering execution\r\nCommercial & Proposal Development\r\nLead commercial portions of proposals development\r\nParticipate in technical presentations and client workshops\r\nSupport contract redaction, clarifications and scope alignment\r\nLead negotiations of pricing, terms and conditions\r\nEnsure account collection when needed\r\nProject Transition & Integration Support\r\nFacilitate the handoff from sales to project execution teams\r\nMaintain continuity between proposal commitments and execution realities, including changes of scope\r\nMarket & Industry Engagement\r\nDevelop long-term relationships with food and dairy processors\r\nMonitor industry trends in processing, hygiene, automation, and plant modernization\r\nIdentify opportunities for system upgrades, expansions, or efficiency improvements\r\nRepresent Qualtech in industry discussions and trade shows\r\nCollaborative approach & Leadership Growth\r\nWork cross-functionally with fabrication, automation, and engineering teams\r\nContribute to the development of solution standards and best practices\r\nParticipate in continuous improvement of proposal and system design methods\r\nQUALIFICATIONS\r\nEducation & Experience\r\n5+ years experience in either of the following: process design, plant operations, commissioning, technical fieldsales, or project execution in the Food & Beverage or Dairy processing industries\r\nBachelor's degree in engineering or Technical degree in a related technical field is considered an asset\r\nAbility to translate process requirements into integrated system solutions\r\nExperience reading and discussing simplified P&IDs and system layouts\r\nFamiliarity with hygienic design principles\r\nUnderstanding of fabrication, installation, and commissioning environments\r\nExposure to industrial control systems and process automation environments\r\nExperience in customer relationship and sales process, from prospecting to closing\r\nProfessional Skills\r\nConsultative communication approach in technical and client-facing settings\r\nStrong analytical and problem-solving capabilities\r\nAbility to manage multiple concurrent technical-commercial opportunities\r\nComfortable working in collaborative, multidisciplinary environments\r\nOrganized in documentation and opportunity tracking\r\nTools & Systems\r\nExperience working with engineering documentation and proposal development\r\nProficiency with Microsoft Office suite tools\r\nCRM (SalesForce) or project tracking experience is an asset\r\nAutoCAD familiarity for layout interpretation is an asset\r\nWORK ENVIRONMENT\r\nWhile the main office is in Petaluma, we welcome candidates from the West Coast and Central USA to apply since this is a hybrid position.
