The CDM Data Services Program is a critical component of CISA’s national effort to ensure the defense and resilience of cyberspace. This is a remote position where the candidate can work from any location within the United States provided, they are able to work on an eastern time zone schedule.\nThe CDM Data Services Program mission is to provide a standardized platform to collect, transform, and integrate cybersecurity data from relevant authoritative data sources into a coherent data, delivering actionable information into Agency and Federal Dashboards to identify risk areas in support of mitigation as well as to facilitate coordinated agency and national response to cyber-threats.\nResponsibilities\nCreate and modify complex pipelines\nCreate/Configure Compute Clusters and job configurations for scheduled processes\nCustomize and execute data transit as needed with javascript/bash scripts\nNavigating cloud environments (Azure/AWS) for investigating data integrity and development/testing purposes\nAnalyze and understand the workings of various API responses of Cybersecurity Tools\nDevelop rules and algorithms for Data processing, transformation, and correlations\nDevelop Extract-Transform-Load (ETL) workloads for the entirety of the data-lifecycle\nDevelop complex logical operations on data for various Cybersecurity tool datasets\nDevelop coding logic in various programming languages such as Python, R, Scala, and Spark SQL\nCollaborate with other developers, share findings, and report methodologies within documentation and productive discussion\nUtilize Agile Methodologies with Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) Pipelines\nUtilize GIT Commands for version control and delivery via platforms such as Azure Devops, GitLab, etc.\nAnalyze data throughout the data-lifecycle for accuracy and anomalies utilizing various Pyspark and Spark SQL commands\nScript innovative tools to further the capabilities of the solution via Python\nAutomate manual processes using Python, BASH, PowerShell, Javascript, or other scripting languages\nReview, Identify, Analyze data from multiple source Cybersecurity tools at multiple agencies.\nInterpret data, analyze results using statistical techniques and support data trends based on the customer needs.\nDevelop and implement databases, data collection systems, data analytics and other strategies that optimize statistical efficiency and quality\nAcquire data from primary and other data sources and maintain databases/data systems\nIdentify, analyze, and interpret trends or patterns in complex datasets\nAnalyze source data and types, identify data requirements for destination systems.\nAnalyze, interpret, and develop data models on data based on Data Dictionary & Logical Data Models guidance.\nLocate and define new process improvement opportunities\nEnsure that mapping of data elements provided by COTS products to the Logical Data Model\nOther duties as assigned\nBasic Qualifications:\nA bachelor's degree complete or in progress preferably in applied mathematics, statistics, computer science, data science, electrical engineering, physics, or closely related field\nA minimum of (12) twelve years of overall experience\nExperience with scripting languages like Python, Bash, PowerShell, R\nExperience utilizing web-based data science notebook tools such as Jupyter Notebooks\nKnowledge and experience in data manipulation tools to include Pyspark, Pandas, Polars, etc.\nKnowledge and experience with database languages such as MS SQL, Spark SQL, MySQL, PostgresSQL, etc.\nUnderstand the basics of joining data together, creating tables, and upserting data to existing tables\nFamiliarity working with various API response types such as JSON and XML\nBasic understanding of data-modeling techniques\nPrior exposure to containerized cluster services such as Kubernetes, Docker Swarm, etc.\nProficient at queries, report writing and presenting findings.\nStrong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy.\nExperience in conducting assessments of an Enterprise by reviewing technical documentation, conducting interviews and workshops to identify gaps and develop a tailored solution is highly desired.\nPreferred Qualifications:\nAny cloud platform certifications (AWS Practitioner, Azure Fundamentals);\nAny Security certification (Security+)\nExperience understanding organizational needs, proposing solutions, and managing project execution efforts designed to deliver overall program benefits for Government Agencies\nExperience collaborating with US Government Agencies, state or local governments, or commercial entities to develop IT service program maturity in accordance with Federal IT mandates and best practices.\nDemonstrated ability to investigate data and present findings to internal teammates and client audiences.\nDemonstrated interest in security solution design using existing as well as emerging technologies to deliver enterprise solutions.\nClearance Requirements\nMust be a US citizen\nAble to obtain and maintain a DHS Suitability (EOD)\nPhysical Requirements:\nMust be able to be in a stationary position more than 50% of the time\nMust be able to communicate, converse, and exchange information with peers and senior personnel\nConstantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a computer\nThe person in this position frequently communicates with co-workers, management, and customers, which may involve delivering presentations.
