The following are the duties and responsibilities of the Assembler – either preformed directly and/or via subordinates:Production preparation by studying assembly instructions, blueprints, drawings and parts lists as well as gathering parts, subassemblies, tools and other required materialsPosition components and subassemblies using templates and/or specifications –assembles components by examining connections for conformityOperate light hand power tools not limited to sanders, drills, grinders, hoists and additional specialty tools as required for productionCheck, inspect and troubleshoot, using a knowledge of fiberglass as well as metals, for conformity and repair discrepancies if detectedMaintains inventory levels, anticipating needs and submits procurement requirementsPerform other duties as assigned by management, supervisors and/or managementUnderstand and comply with health, safety and regulatory requirementsMust be able to speak, read, and write EnglishAdditional Skills And CompetenciesBasic mathematical skillsMeeting production schedulesKnowing chemicals, their dangers, safety procedures, mixing procedures and time limitsAbility to work both independently and as a team memberFollow safety and health standards – use of protective equipment as requiredAbility to work 8+ hour day shifts (sitting, standing, bending and reaching) and moderate lifting up to 50 lbsUnderstand and comply with health, safety and regulatory requirementsMust be able to speak, read, and write EnglishPerform other duties as assigned by management, supervisors and/or managementRequired Education And ExperienceHigh School Diploma or equivalent, 2 - 5 years of experience with gel coating and fiberglass experience. Prefer knowledge with fiberglass and resin, spray painting, composites, marine material knowledge and marine experience. Must be able to speak, read, and write in English.Other Job DemandsWorking Conditions: Works inside with occasional outside work.Physical Effort: Lifting 50 lbs. maximum with infrequent lifting and/or carrying objects weighing up to 25 lbs.; stooping, kneeling or crawling with moderate effort; reaching and handling is required often with moderate effort; pushing and pulling of up to 25 lbs.Physical Environment: Exposure to dirt, dust, hazardous substances and equipment does exist; they occur often.
