SpaceX looks for smart, motivated software engineers who enjoy taking on complex challenges, work well in dynamic environments, and care about best practices.\r\nHelp us build world-class software that is critical to SpaceX mission to Mars.\r\nResponsibilities\r\nDevelop and maintain the high-fidelity real-time simulation software used for all vehicles\r\nDevelop prototypes to prove out key design concepts and quantify technical constraints\r\nMaintain the highest standards of excellence, never settle for the status quo\r\nImprove reliability and performance of simulation software\r\nWork with simulation software users to develop new features and improve user experiences\r\nBasic Qualifications\r\nBachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, math, or STEM discipline and 5+ years of experience in software development; or 7+ years of professional experience in software development in lieu of a degree\r\n2+ years development experience in C++\r\nPreferred Skills and Experience\r\nStrong software design and development skills in C++\r\nUnderstanding of distributed computing systems, networking protocols, memory management, and CPU scheduling\r\nThorough knowledge of classical physics and math (algebra, calculus, Euclidean geometry)\r\nStrong skills in debugging, performance optimization and unit testing\r\nCreative approach to problem solving\r\nExperience with open source C++ simulators such as ROS2 and Gazebo\r\nAbility to work effectively in a dynamic environment with changing needs and requirements\r\nAbility to work independently and in a team, take initiative, and communicate effectively\r\nAdditional Requirements\r\nWilling to work extended hours and weekends when needed\r\nCompensation and Benefits\r\nPay range: Software Engineer/Senior: $160,000.00 – $225,000.00 per year.\r\nYour actual level and base salary will be determined on a case-by-case basis and may vary based on job-related knowledge and skills, education, and experience. Base salary is just one part of your total rewards package. You may also be eligible for long-term incentives, such as company stock, stock options, or long-term cash awards, as well as potential discretionary bonuses and the ability to purchase additional stock at a discount through an Employee Stock Purchase Plan.
