Primary work activities will take place in Frederick, Maryland with occasional\ntravel supporting various events.\nSuccessful candidates will have demonstrated experience in the development, analysis, design,\nand performance planning for military and commercial radio communications and networks.\nCommunications domains include terrestrial, airborne, and satellite with applications in both\nwideband and narrowband data and voice. Radio networking can include mesh/MANET, point-\nto-point, and point-to-multipoint. The candidate should have strong experience and knowledge\nin modulation, RF propagation, networking protocols, RF performance modeling and planning,\nand antenna modeling and analysis.\nKey Responsibilities/Duties Include:\nSystem level design and analysis of military and/or commercial voice and data radio\nsystems\nExperience with network and radio encryption standards and operations for both\ncommercial and/or military systems\nRadio and network system planning, modeling, and performance analysis\nDesign of radio network systems for terrestrial and airborne applications, including\nmesh/MANET networks\nDesign of radio networks for wideband and narrowband voice and data using satellite\ncommunications, with demonstrated experience with Iridium, Inmarsat, or others highly\ndesired\nDetailed planning and conducting of communications systems testing\nClose interaction with customer personnel during test and deployment events\nProvide communications integration support to prime and sub-contractors\nConduct laboratory and field testing of communications components and systems\nUnit-level troubleshooting and debugging\nTest results data collection and support of analysis\nProvide weekly status updates to Leadership\nQualification requirements:\nCandidate must be a United States citizen and will be required to maintain a\ngovernment SECRET security clearance\nBachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or equivalent, master’s degree desired\n10+ years’ experience with commercial and/or government radio communication\nsystems and networks\nExpert understanding of radio network design, signal modulation, RF propagation and\ncascade analysis, and antenna performance modeling\nDemonstrated understanding of data networking protocols and routing schema\nAbility to work independently with minimal supervision\nAbility to develop system schematics and wiring diagrams\nAbility to independently develop detailed technical reports\nPerform engineering and scientific analysis of collected test data\nDevelop system simulations and perform modeling of communications networks\nProficient in MS Office, Windows-based applications, Matlab and/or other technical\nanalysis, modeling and design toolsets\nOccasional domestic and international travel will be required\nCompensation:\nMinimum 108,000 Maximum 147,000\nWGS Systems, LLC, based in Frederick, Maryland, provides systems and products that support\nour military and homeland security front line personnel.
