Ferrellgas is searching for an Operations Supervisor. The operations supervisor is responsible for ensuring all safety related tasks and responsibilities are completed in a timely, thorough, and consistent fashion. This position follows high safety standards, and provides the technical knowledge and skills required to ensure compliance with safety policies, procedures, and regulations. The incumbent will be responsible for ensuring that our plants, vehicles, and employees are safe and ready to perform the tasks that they are designed to perform. This position typically requires a bachelor’s degree in operations management, business administration, or a related field and at least three years of work-related experience.\n\nWhy You’ll Love Working Here\n\nAt Ferrellgas, we’re committed to supporting our team with benefits that promote health, financial security, and personal growth:\n\nComprehensive Health Coverage: Medical, dental, vision, accident, and critical illness insurance\nIncome Protection: Company-provided short-term and long-term disability, life insurance, and AD&D\nFinancial Wellness: 401(k) with company match, Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP), Flexible Spending Account (FSA), and Health Savings Account (HSA)\nTime Off & Family Support: Paid Time Off (PTO), parental leave, and tuition reimbursement\nWellness & Assistance Programs: Wellness program, Employee Assistance Program (EAP), and Medicare support\nEmployee Perks: Referral program, employee discount programs, and propane savings\n\nPerforms all operational/safety administrative, plant, and vehicle checklists and ensures previous deficiencies have been addressed.\nTracks and assists with Employee Safety & Technical Training (PEP-PERC Education Program) and works with the general manager to supervise yard and plant facilities.\nUtilizes regular monitoring, risk assessment, and trend analysis to identify potential issues and proactively develop resolutions.\nPerforms reseller and hose inspections and submits information for reseller compliance.\nMonitors cargo tank compliance, completes VK’s on site, and ensures employees responsible for these inspections are properly trained and completes the inspections properly.\nMonitors retail training matrix ensuring employees have their required hazmat training submitted and current.\nMonitors employee training compliance and ensures employees possess the required training for their assigned job duties.\nMonitors Leak Check reporting and ensures employees understand how and when to perform a leak check in accordance with Company Policy.\nEnsures employees complete distance checks before every delivery and enter appropriate comments if the check fails.\nReviews red tags (red tag report) ensuring that unsafe systems are identified and tagged (not receiving deliveries), unsafe systems are repaired, and the red tag is removed once the system is repaired.\nMonitors CSA reporting to see DOT inspections that have occurred and follow up on violations.\nMonitors JS compliance and ensures that testing and inspections are current.\nMonitors quarterly risk reports to identify and address trends that may be occurring, using independent judgment and discretion to proactively address potential issues.\nCoordinates with logistics supervisor, general manager, and fleet maintenance providers to achieve possible OOC vehicle maintenance.\nEnsures all safety meetings (Flashnotes), safety related memos, and technical bulletins are communicated, properly documented, and followed up on as needed.\nPerforms customer training at customer locations at request of management team\nDrives to reach DCF and financial goals of the service center.\n\nBachelor’s degree in operations management, business administration, or field experience equivalent.\nAt least three years of work-related experience, propane experience preferred.\nClass B CDL license with hazmat and tanker endorsements required.\nWorking knowledge of DOT guidelines and regulations.\nStrong mechanical and technical aptitude.\nDemonstrates ability to implement and manage compliance requirements.\nAbility to study, learn, and apply code requirements as needed.\nHighly motivated individual.\nExcellent interpersonal, communication, analytical, and time management skills.\nAbility to manage multiple locations.\nAbility to formulate and direct data analyses pertaining to field operations processes to identify problems and resolutions.\nExperience taking care of assets.\nAbility to plan in detail and communicate the detailed plan.\nAbility to organize and motivate in leading by example.\nAbility to thrive in a constantly changing fast paced environment and consistently meet tight deadlines\nGenuine commitment to providing superior Customer Service.\nMust be a Citizen or National of the United States, a lawful, permanent resident, or have authorization to work in the United States\nApplicants must not now, or any time in the future, require sponsorship for an employment visa.\n\nWhy Ferrellgas?\n\nAt Ferrellgas we’re honored to be part of tight-knit communities across America and thousands of customers’ lives.
