Job Summary: The Wastewater Operator II performs skilled work in the operation and maintenance of Wastewater equipment and facilities in accordance with (TCEQ) Texas Commission on Environmental Quality regulations so that all treated water quality meets the State and federal discharge permit requirements. Employees in this position work under the supervision of the Utilities Director. Employee exercises appropriate safety precautions in operating assigned equipment to ensure personal, public, and personnel safety. The employee should be highly motivated and expected to work independently and as part of a team depending on the nature of the assigned tasks. All employees are expected to show by example the City of Bullard’s commitment to its citizens and work together as part of the Bullard City family by contributing to necessary duties as needed. Hours Monday – Friday 7:00-4:00. Overtime, Holidays and on call as needed
Duties and Responsibilities:
Operates and maintains pumps, motors, chlorinators, chemical feed devices.
Interpret lab analysis on collected samples.
Monitor charts, meters, recorders, equipment, and make adjustments accordingly
Report equipment and process malfunction, and any irregularities in operations
Inspect/clean/repair pumps, motors, aerators, digesters, clarifiers, lift stations, and other equipment
Wastewater treatment plant operation
Other duties as assigned
Required Qualifications:
Must have Class C wastewater treatment plant operator license from TCEQ
Must possess a valid Texas Class “C” Driver’s License
High School diploma or GED

Must be able to read, write, speak and effectively communicate using the English language
Must be willing to undergo a criminal background check
Must pass pre-employment drug screen
Preferred Qualifications:
2 years of experience or an equivalent combination of training and experience may be considered
Class B CDL or able to obtain within 1 year
Have knowledge of mechanical principles and troubleshooting electrical failures
Have knowledge of TCEQ regulations
Know the principles of safety involving use of hand and power tools, electrical equipment and hazardous materials
Able to operate power equipment/tools

Possess the skill to troubleshoot plant processes and act accordingly
Comprehend technical manuals and construction plans
Must be able to stand, walk, climb, reach, balance, and handle equipment 8-hours daily; lift and carry up to 100-pounds; stoop and bend 6-8-hours daily; push and pull up to 100-pounds; crouch, crawl, twist, turn, kneel, and sit up to 1-hr daily; must be able to work indoors and outdoors in extreme weather conditions.

Pay: $22.00 - $25.00 per hour
