This is a support position, and introduction into preconstruction, with tremendous opportunity for advancement into the Preconstruction Manager position.\n\nThis position helps support the overall sales objectives of MTech Mechanical. Utilizes selling, pricing, engineering and management skills to support MTech Mechanical’s Preconstruction team in procuring work and designing jobs to satisfy the client’s needs and achieve a fair profit for the company. This opportunity gives the individual a broad level of experience as well as a more technical and sales foundation for individual growth as they advance their career with MTech.\n\nEssential Job Function:\nAssist the PreConstruction team with project pursuits, in the form of conceptual designs, one-lines, preliminary system selections and energy analysis, code reviews, and support and attendance at project interviews.\nSupport on developing and maintaining general contractor and end user client base\nDemonstrates understanding of other business unit processes and supports all processes to achieve business unit goals\nSupports overall sales objectives by meeting assigned gross margin dollars and gross margin % objectives\nProperly price products to meet the objectives of selling a job and ensuring fair profit for MTech Mechanical\nPrepare sales proposals for potential clients and prospects\nManage estimating team to produce complete and accurate estimates\nMaintain continual contact with the projects participated throughout development and construction, including review of job costs and personal communication with the Project Engineer, Project Managers and Owner\nEffectively participate on MTech Mechanical team to satisfy the client’s needs\nCommunicate effectively with internal and external clients\nUnderstand and establish positive and functional job relationships\nMeet with clients to gather information and coordinate plans\nCoordinate with other MTech Mechanical employees as required in the resolution of project related problems and issues\nSupport the total quality and team based efforts. Identify and respond to the needs of internal and external clients 100% of the time\nWork within the guidelines of the safety and employee policy\nConduct building surveys to ascertain existing conditions and constraints for new project pursuits.\nWorks with other departments to provide technical expertise in a support role.\nProvide engineering support for projects at early design phases.\nPerform block loads\nSize major equipment\nSize and layout distribution systems as desired\nPerform zone maps for terminal systems\nIdentify and fill project scope gaps\nTrack down unknown information from general contractors and engineers\nIdentify any areas of change from previous estimate iterations\nHave the ability to set up, compile and review a conceptual estimate\nHave the ability to set up, facilitate and review a final estimate\nOther duties as assigned\nQualifications:\n3-10 years working with mechanical systems and industrial systems\nBS in Mechanical Engineering or Architecture Engineering\nMust be approved to drive per MTech’s driving standards and insurance carrier\nVery strong understanding of mechanical equipment/systems applications\nAbility to discuss technical aspects of mechanical systems to internal partners and clients\nWorking knowledge of architectural, electrical, structural, and fire protection drawings\nExperience with Microsoft Office Suite\nStrong communication both written and verbal\nAbout MTech:\nMTech Mechanical is a full-service mechanical contractor delivering HVAC, plumbing, fabrication, and design-build solutions for complex commercial and industrial projects.
