Our products support rail customer operations for dispatch systems, positive train control, SCADA, and customer information management and include both back office and front facing components. Our successful products are deployed in over 30 customer operational systems and we continue to develop the next generation of our products for future growth in areas such as high speed rail, data analytics, and machine learning.\r\nResponsibilities Develop software based on requirements and design\r\nCollaborate with the software team to extend existing components to implement client requirements\r\nSupport design activities and reviews\r\nAnalyze code and system functionality\r\nFollow engineering guidelines and processes\r\nContinuously work to improve software quality\r\nQualifications Must have\r\nB.S. in Computer Science, MIS, Software or Electrical Engineering or related discipline\r\nMinimum of 7 years of demonstrated hands-on experience in building scalable software, including design, implementation, debugging, and support\r\nKnowledge of design patterns and Restful API patterns\r\nExperience with applying data structures, algorithms, and object-oriented design, to solve challenging problems using at least two of these languages: Java, C/C++, C#, Python\r\nExperience with agile software development principles and practices, particularly Scrum\r\nMust have excellent written and verbal communication skills\r\nNice to have\r\nPassenger and freight rail domain experience\r\nUnderstanding of rail domain protocols such as IETMS\r\nNode.js and JavaScript experience\r\nPython experience\r\nArchitecture experience\r\nAI/ML\r\nWhat will your typical day look like? Develop software based on requirements and design\r\nCollaborate with the software team to extend existing components to implement client requirements\r\nSupport design activities and reviews\r\nAnalyze code and system functionality\r\nFollow engineering guidelines and processes\r\nContinuously work to improve software quality\r\nPhysical demands Employee is regularly required to talk and hear\r\nEmployee is regularly required to see and observe small print on computer screen\r\nEmployee is regularly required to sit and/or stand for prolonged periods of time\r\nEmployee is regularly using repetitive hand motions, typing on a keyboard\r\nEmployee will be required to travel to customer locations both domestically and internationally\r\nYou may also be asked to perform other duties outside of your function or trade, for which adequate training will be provided if necessary.\r\nWabtec will only employ those who are legally authorized to work in the U.S. for this opening.
