Volunteers of America Northern California & Northern Nevada inspires self-sufficiency, dignity, and hope by providing critical health and human services to thousands of vulnerable individuals and families across Northern California & Northern Nevada.\n\nPROGRAM AND LOCATION\nVOA-NCNN, a Certified Great Place to Work, is recruiting for a full-time Program Supervisor for the Adolfo Housing Program at our Mather Community Campus. Full-time employees (working 30 or more hours a week) are eligible for a benefits package that includes paid holidays, vacation, sick pay, health, dental, vision, life, and short-term disability insurance coverage.\n\nOBJECTIVES/ACTIVITIES\n\nResponsible for performing daily work requirements to achieve established objectives of the department.\n\nAssist in the collection of program fees.\n\nSchedule shift hours for all Mentor staff and perform bi-weekly payroll duties.\n\nHelp ensure that residents’ apartments are safe and in good order by performing weekly housing inspections for health and safety.\n\nConsistently update Policies and Procedures Manual and schedule all safety inspections.\n\nOrder and track all bus passes provided to residents.\n\nMake weekly food donation collection and distribution to residents while maintaining accurate weekly and monthly food donation logs and reports.\n\nEnsure effective communication among Adolfo staff through completion of resident and staff logs, fliers and incident reports as well as through professional, respectful and team building written and verbal communication.\n\nProvide emergency assistance to residents, such as AOD intervention, and staff as necessary.\n\nRespond to all client questions and concerns.\n\nIdentify and delegate chores to clients for Community Service hours.\n\nOther duties as assigned by the Program Manager or Director.\n\nResponsible for assistance with client development.\n\nProvide resident support and encouragement to the Youth Advocates including, but not limited to youth coaching, mentoring and direct, compassionate communication.\n\nProvide assistance with resident development including assessing any social issues that present barriers to a resident’s success in cooperative living and successful achievement of self-sufficiency.\n\nResponsible for all areas of daily program maintenance in compliance with\n\nCompany Policies\n\nDocument and report all resident concerns and/or infractions that can impact the program security.\n\nMaintain and complete all shift logs, observation logs, and incident reports.\n\nMonitor inventory of program equipment and supplies and take appropriate action to replace or restock as needed.\n\nSecure Program Manager approval for exceptions to standard policy for residents or self.\n\nNotify management of potential workflow problems and resource needs necessary to attain performance standards.\n\nAdhere to staffing schedules in order to provide adequate/safe staffing coverage and to accomplish program objectives.\n\nCommunicate with service providers and external county/state/city program representatives as required.\n\nDirect available resources as required.\n\nResponsible for training and development of new staff.\n\nAssist in department orientation and training for new employees as requested to ensure quality work outcomes.\n\nServe as part of the development team by providing information and support for the development of quality operations.\n\nMaintain an above average working knowledge of fire, safety, and health standards to ensure safe work environment for clients and all personnel.\n\nResponsible for self-development.\n\nContinually learn and enhance technical and interpersonal skills.\n\nAttend staff meetings/assigned training seminars and complete required certifications, i.e. CPR, First Aid, etc.\n\nEQUIVALENT EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE\nA bachelor’s degree in social work, or a relevant field, is preferred. This position requires demonstrated ability to communicate, comprehend, and follow through on oral and written instructions and to provide services to residents without ethnic or social prejudices. It requires general knowledge of issues and challenges unique to homelessness, substance abuse, young adults, and minorities. Specific knowledge with Twelve Step philosophy, addiction and recovery, and dysfunctional family dynamics is preferred. Must have the flexibility to work irregular hours and have the willingness to function as a team member. Intermediate computer skills required, including Outlook and all Microsoft programs. Valid California driver's license and ability to meet the organization’s insurance carrier guidelines are required. Must pass all required background clearances in accordance with agency, County, State, and federal standards. CPR/First Aid certification is required within 90 days of employment.
