This position serves as a subject matter expert providing scientific analysis, project management, stakeholder coordination, and program oversight in support of translational science initiatives, biomedical research programs, and NIH priorities.\nThe successful candidate will combine scientific expertise with strong project management, analytical, and communication skills to support strategic initiatives, research portfolios, grant-related activities, scientific meetings, and stakeholder engagement efforts.\nKey Responsibilities\nScientific Program Management\nSupport the development, implementation, and evaluation of scientific programs and strategic initiatives.\nCollaborate with scientific staff on project planning, execution, and ongoing program activities.\nTrack project milestones, deliverables, action items, and timelines using project management tools.\nCoordinate with investigators, stakeholders, and program staff on scientific and operational matters.\nAssist with funding plans, project budgets, and milestone development for research initiatives.\nScientific Research & Portfolio Analysis\nConduct scientific literature searches using PubMed, Web of Science, and other research databases.\nAnalyze and summarize scientific publications, research findings, and programmatic information.\nPerform portfolio analyses to identify trends, overlaps, gaps, and future research opportunities.\nPrepare literature reviews, briefing materials, and scientific summaries for leadership and stakeholders.\nResearch emerging developments in translational science, drug discovery, and biomedical technologies.\nData Analysis & Reporting\nCollect, analyze, interpret, and present scientific and programmatic data.\nPrepare reports, dashboards, charts, spreadsheets, and executive summaries.\nDevelop and maintain databases, SharePoint sites, tracking systems, and reporting tools.\nMonitor project performance and prepare regular status reports for leadership.\nAnalyze grant progress reports and prepare portfolio review materials.\nScientific Communications\nDraft, edit, review, and proofread scientific and programmatic documents.\nDevelop presentations, abstracts, posters, briefing books, meeting materials, and reports.\nPrepare communications for researchers, program staff, leadership, and external stakeholders.\nTranslate complex scientific information into clear and plain-language communications.\nSupport dissemination of program information through websites and communication channels.\nMeeting & Conference Coordination\nPlan and coordinate scientific meetings, workshops, conferences, symposia, and special events.\nManage meeting logistics, room reservations, audiovisual support, registrations, and communications.\nPrepare agendas, presentations, participant materials, and meeting summaries.\nRecord and distribute meeting minutes and track follow-up activities.\nSupport quarterly Principal Investigator meetings and strategic planning sessions.\nWebsite & Information Management\nDevelop, update, and maintain scientific program websites and SharePoint repositories.\nEnsure scientific content remains accurate, current, and accessible.\nManage document repositories and retrieval systems.\nSupport social media and stakeholder communication initiatives to increase awareness of NCATS programs.\nCoordinate with the Office of Communications and Public Liaison on outreach activities.\nProcess Improvement & Strategic Support\nEvaluate program operations, workflows, policies, and procedures.\nDevelop recommendations to improve efficiency and effectiveness.\nSupport special studies and strategic analyses related to research portfolios.\nIdentify and implement improvements to reporting systems, communication tools, and program management processes.\nAssist leadership in tracking organizational goals and strategic initiatives.\nMinimum Qualifications\nMaster's degree in Biology, Biochemistry, Genetics, or a closely related biomedical science discipline;
