We value ambition, dedication, and innovation, and believe in building a network of talented individuals who share our commitment to making a difference.\nPosition Title: Structural Engineer Associate\nLocation: Los Angeles Unified School District (This position is on-site in Los Angeles, California and candidates must be willing and able to commute to the office and make site visits as necessary)\nPerforms moderately complex structural engineering work, including the preparation, analysis, and review of design plans, specifications, estimates, and reports to comply with guidelines set by federal, state, and local agencies\nPerforms contract administration in the review of structural services required of engineering consultants and architects, and makes appropriate revisions and recommendations\nPrepares structural design plans and specifications, quality assurance plans, conceptual and detailed cost estimates, and other reports necessary for the construction, maintenance, and operation of various concrete, structural steel, timber, masonry, metal, and other related materials\nAssists in the review of project status, initiates changes, and provides advice and assistance to structural designers and other engineering and design staff\nAssists in the review of structural plans and specifications, design and mathematical calculations in the completion of structural engineering projects and assignments, as well as creating cost and expenditure requirements for alternate means of construction\nAssists in the review of completed structural work for conformance to recognized standards and feasibility of construction, as well as completeness and accuracy\nAssists in the design and layout of foundation, floor, wall, and roof framing plans for major building structures\nMakes recommendations to contractors, architects, engineers, and construction inspectors on structural issues during construction\nAnalyzes environmental impact reports, negative declarations, and soils test data to make appropriate recommendations for foundation design\nPrepares feasibility reports and preliminary design for proposed structures and facilities under construction\nPerforms site investigations and prepares scoping reports and recommendations\nPerforms other related duties as assigned\nRequired Experience Three (3) years full-time paid professional structural engineering experience\nEmphasis on school building construction is preferred\nRequired Education Graduation from a recognized college or university with a bachelor's degree in structural engineering or civil engineering with specialization in structural engineering courses\nPreferred Licenses and Certificates Possession of a Certification as a Professional Engineer (PE) recognized by the State of California Board of Professional Engineers, Land Surveyors, and Geologists is preferred\nOffered rate of compensation will be based on a variety of non-discriminatory factors, including education, qualifications, experience, and geographic location.
