Human Resources Payroll ManagerPosition SummaryThe Human Resources Payroll Manager is responsible for overseeing and processing multi-jurisdictional payroll functions across the United States (including Ohio and Minnesota) and Canada. This role ensures payroll accuracy, compliance with federal, state/provincial, and local regulations, and maintains strict confidentiality while supporting employees and leadership.Key ResponsibilitiesSupervise and support payroll staff as neededProcess and distribute employee wages via direct depositManage and process payroll for U.S. (Ohio and Minnesota) and Canada employeesEnsure compliance with all applicable federal, state, provincial, and local payroll laws and regulationsCalculate and ensure accurate tax withholdings, including U.S. (federal, state, local) and Canadian (federal and provincial) taxesPrepare and complete payroll reports in a timely mannerMaintain strict confidentiality of all payroll and employee recordsInvestigate and resolve discrepancies in payroll, timesheets, and pay recordsEnsure adherence to payroll policies, procedures, and legal requirements across all jurisdictionsProcess employee status changes, including job titles, pay rates, and exemptions/classificationsRespond to employee inquiries regarding pay, deductions, attendance, and timekeepingCoordinate and track leave requests and absences in compliance with regional regulationsMaintain payroll systems and accurate recordkeepingProcess payroll for all employees for each pay period (including full-time and part-time)Perform paycheck corrections and adjustments as neededMonitor and verify payroll-related financial data and reportingManage 401k and partner with Benefits ManagerQualifications & RequirementsStrong attention to detail and high level of accuracyExcellent organizational and clerical skillsStrong communication skills, both written and verbalWorking knowledge of U.S. payroll laws (including Ohio and Minnesota) and Canadian payroll regulationsFamiliarity with multi-state and international payroll processingKnowledge of wage and hour laws, tax regulations, and compliance requirementsAbility to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environmentStrong customer service mindset; internal and external customersRequired Skills & CompetenciesProficiency in payroll systems (Dayforce) and software (multi-country experience preferred)Strong math, accounting, and bookkeeping skillsExperience with spreadsheets (e.g., Excel)Data entry and record-keeping expertiseAbility to meet tight deadlinesSound decision-making and problem-solving skillsAbility to work independently with minimal supervisionStrong attention to detail and organizational skillsEffective interpersonal and communication skillsFive (5) years of payroll experience preferredCore Payroll FunctionsCalculate employee net pay based on wages, benefits, and deductions across U.S. and CanadaMaintain payroll processing systems and accurate employee recordsEnsure timely and accurate payroll processing for all jurisdictions each pay cycleRespond to payroll-related inquiries and resolve discrepanciesMaintain compliance with company policies and all applicable legal requirementsThis position reports directly to the SVP/ CPO of Human Resources.
