Previous data center experience is helpful, but we are also interested in technically capable candidates from nontraditional backgrounds who demonstrate the ability to learn quickly.\n\nWhat You'll Be Doing\n\n* Validate network and fiber patching against project documentation and design requirements\n* Trace connections between switches, ports, patch panels, racks, and network equipment\n* Identify incorrect patching, labeling discrepancies, and other infrastructure issues\n* Assist with identifying and resolving *LLDP-related discrepancies*\n* Perform optical testing and verification using an *Optical Power Meter (OPM)*\n* Inspect fiber connections, rack layouts, patch panels, ports, and labeling\n* Compare physical installations against spreadsheets, drawings, and system records\n* Document findings using *Excel spreadsheets and ticketing systems*\n* Create clear notes and supporting documentation for identified issues\n* Escalate recurring or complex discrepancies to project leadership\n* Move between the data center floor and computer-based validation activities throughout the shift\n* Follow structured validation procedures and quality-control standards\n* Maintain accuracy while working through large quantities of network and fiber infrastructure\n\nWhat We're Looking For\n\nSuccessful candidates will have:\n\n* Strong *problem-solving and analytical skills*\n* Excellent attention to detail\n* Strong pattern-recognition abilities\n* Comfort working with computers, spreadsheets, and software-based tools\n* Ability to follow detailed technical processes\n* Ability to recognize when physical infrastructure does not match documentation\n* Curiosity and a desire to understand how systems and networks work\n* Ability to work independently after completing training\n* Strong reliability and attendance\n* Ability to communicate technical findings clearly\n* Willingness to work in a fast-paced, mission-critical data center environment\n\nPreferred Technical Experience\n\nPrevious experience with any of the following is highly valuable:\n\n* Data center infrastructure\n* Fiber optic cabling\n* Structured cabling\n* Network support\n* Fiber testing\n* Optical Power Meters (OPM)\n* Copper or fiber testing equipment\n* Network switches and ports\n* Patch panels\n* Fiber patching\n* LLDP\n* Excel\n* Ticketing systems\n* Data center racks and cabinets\n* Infrastructure documentation and validation\n\nCandidates do *not* need to be senior network engineers.
