Senior Electrical Engineer – RF SystemsOverviewWe are seeking a highly experienced Senior Electrical Engineer with deep expertise in radio frequency (RF) systems and hardware design. This role will lead complex engineering efforts, translate high-level requirements into detailed system designs, and serve as a technical leader across cross-functional teams. The ideal candidate brings a strong background in transceiver architecture, circuit design, and product development from concept through production.Key ResponsibilitiesTranslate customer and business requirements into detailed electrical system specifications and design documentation.Lead complex circuit and system design efforts, including component selection, schematic capture, modeling, simulation, and performance analysis.Serve as technical project lead by planning engineering activities, setting priorities, and ensuring delivery against schedule, cost, and performance objectives.Develop, refine, and enforce electrical engineering standards, design practices, and documentation processes.Ensure compliance with applicable quality, safety, environmental, and performance standards, including military, commercial, and FAA radio regulations.Provide expert-level technical guidance to engineering teams, fostering innovation, continuous improvement, and engineering excellence.Support transition from design to manufacturing, including build readiness, test strategy development, and troubleshooting.Collaborate with cross-functional teams including PCB layout, embedded software, mechanical engineering, and manufacturing.Required Skills & ExpertiseStrong electrical engineering fundamentals with emphasis on RF and hardware designDeep understanding of radio systems, transceiver architectures, RF components, and performance specificationsExperience with PCB layout, power electronics, and failure analysisKnowledge of test methodologies, validation processes, and quality assurance practicesQualificationsBachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related STEM field (advanced degree preferred)8+ years of experience in electrical engineering, with significant focus on radio frequency products and systemsProven experience designing and delivering complex hardware systems that meet performance, cost, and schedule targetsFamiliarity with manufacturing processes, product assembly, and production supportDemonstrated technical leadership and ability to guide and mentor multidisciplinary teamsStrong communication skills with the ability to present complex technical concepts to diverse stakeholdersPreferred AttributesExperience working with regulated environments (military, commercial aviation, or FAA standards)Ability to drive innovation while maintaining rigorous engineering disciplineCollaborative mindset with a focus on continuous improvement and operational excellenceJob Type & LocationThis is a Permanent position based out of Marion, IA.Pay And BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $90000.00 - $140000.00/yr.401k, pto, flexibility, prototype equipmentWorkplace TypeThis is a hybrid position in Marion,IA.Application DeadlineThis position is anticipated to close on Jun 3, 2026.About ActalentActalent is a global leader in engineering and sciences services and talent solutions.
