Job Overview We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Welder Helper Fabrication to join our dynamic manufacturing team. In this role, you will assist skilled welders in fabricating metal components, ensuring precision and quality in every project. Your hands-on support will help streamline the fabrication process, maintain safety standards, and contribute to the successful completion of complex metal assemblies. Duties Assist welders with setup, positioning, and securing materials for various welding processes including MIG, TIG, FCAW (Flux-Cored Arc Welding), and welding techniques. Prepare and organize sheet metal, ductwork, piping, and other fabrication materials according to schematics and blueprints. Operate hand tools, power tools, plasma cutters, press brake machines, and other fabrication equipment safely and efficiently. Measure and mark materials using calipers, micrometers, and basic math skills to ensure accurate cuts and assembly. Support rigging and crane operations during material handling and assembly tasks on construction sites or manufacturing floors. Read schematics and blueprints to assist with assembly, fabrication, and welding projects according to ASME codes & standards. Maintain a clean work environment by properly storing tools and disposing of scrap materials while adhering to safety protocols. Skills Construction site experience with an understanding of safety procedures and on-site workflows. Proficiency in MIG welding, TIG welding, FCAW welding, welding techniques with a focus on quality standards. Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings accurately for fabrication tasks. Familiarity with hand tools, power tools, plasma cutting equipment, press brake machines, and machining tools. Mechanical knowledge related to pipe threading, soldering, assembly processes, and ductwork fabrication. Experience operating forklifts or other material handling equipment is a plus. Strong basic math skills for measurements and calculations essential in fabrication work. Knowledge of ASME codes & standards relevant to manufacturing and welding practices. Ability to support rigging operations using cranes or other lifting devices safely.
