If you are passionate about changing the world by empowering revolutionary new quantum technologies, we want to hear from you!\n\nDuties and Responsibilities\nClosely work with engineering teams to review the product specification and design of chassis mechanical, thermal, system architecture to enable competitive, high quality server chassis products\nSupport the development of several platforms based around classical and quantum photonics as a mechanical engineer.\nDrive designs from concept to mass production, focusing on functionality, reliability, manufacturability and cosmetic requirements.\nCreate and publish detailed 3D CAD and 2D drawings for designs including GD&T, material selection and manufacturing methods.\nCollaborate with external vendors and manufacturers to support product development, prototyping, and production readiness\nCross-functional work with internal teams such as hardware, photonics, operations, and product managers to deliver products that meet performance, cost, and schedule requirements.\nParticipate in the prototyping and assembly of products and proof-of-concept models. Soldering work will be present.\nWork closely with senior engineers to implement design changes and enhancements.\nMaintain accurate documentation of design changes, test procedures, and project progress.\nPrepare reports and presentations for detailed design reviews.\n\nRequired Skills and Experience\nBachelor of Science (BS) or Master of Science (MS) in Mechanical Engineering, Product Design or related field from an accredited university.\nMinimum 3-4 years of full-time experience in the design and correlation of mechanical components including: plastic or metal parts, mechanical assemblies, printed circuit boards or flexes.\nProduct development and management experience in server chassis mechanical, thermal, and system design\nExperience with server system architecture and server chassis layout optimization\nExperience in developing server product architectures and carrying through to production.\nGeneral technical knowledge in multiple manufacturing methods used in consumer products such as 3D printing, urethane casting, injection molding, sheet metal, CNC machining etc.\nSystem integration experience, including electro-opto mechanical components (Optics, lens, Motors, Mirrors, translation stages etc.), heat transfer and product architecture\nExperience with using CAD tools such as Solidworks, NX or Creo, and PDM tools such as Solidworks PDM, Windchill (Solidworks and SolidworksPDM experience is preferred)\nFamiliar with product development cycles\nExperience working with manufacturing vendors and suppliers\nAbility to work in a startup environment.\nTechnical knowledge in general materials.\nAble to lift weights up to OSHA limit (50 lbs.) when required (occasionally).\nExcellent problem-solving and analytical skills.\nExcellent written and verbal communication skills.\nDetail-oriented.\n\nPreferred Skills and Experience\nPrior work on server chassis design or data center server hardware is highly valued, as it demonstrates familiarity with the unique challenges of complex system integration of optical, electrical, and mechanical components.\nExperience with designing airflow paths, heat sinks, fans, or liquid cooling loops that keep cutting-edge systems within safe temperatures.\nStrong understanding of compliance-driven design requirements, including EMI and ESD.\nIncumbent(s) in this position may be required to perform other duties and special assignments not specifically stated above.
