Accounting Manager | PE-Backed Government Contracting CompanyLocation: 1-2 days/week in Northern VA office, with a lot of flexibilityWe are retained with a high-growth, private equity-backed government contractor looking for a strong Accounting Manager to join their expanding finance team (newly created role). This is a rare opportunity [especially for an experienced audit senior or audit manager] to work across the full accounting function — from close to consolidation to financial reporting — in a fast-paced environment with real visibility to leadership. What You'll DoOwn the monthly close process Prepare and review consolidated financial statements (monthly, quarterly, and annually)Ensure compliance with US GAAP, FAR, CAS, and other applicable regulatory frameworksSupport external audits, tax preparation coordination, and technical accounting topics (revenue recognition, leases, purchase accounting)Participate in M&A diligence and integration efforts alongside systems and process improvement initiativesWhat We're Looking For4–7 years of progressive accounting experience. Candidates can be straight from public accounting audit or accounting advisory.Active CPA license or eligibility to sit for the CPA exam requiredStrong working knowledge of US GAAP and financial reporting requirementsGovernment contracting experience (public accounting or industry) strongly preferred
