We are currently seeking an Assembly Process Engineer, Operations for a client in the automotive industry, specializing in car manufacturing. This is a contractor role based in Vance, AL that requires onsite presence .\nIf you’re eager to grow your career and make a meaningful impact on exciting projects, we look forward to your application.\nPurpose This role supports shop operations to facilitate a safe and productive process in accord with the Production System (MPS).\nResponsibilities Develop systems to improve process capability.\nIdentify special process characteristics and their required control limits.\nPerform, maintain and develop countermeasures for potential failure mode and effects analysis.\nDevelop the content of TPM inspections to assist in control of the process.\nManage process continuous improvement projects for model changes, new technologies, process modifications and cost improvements.\nEnsure product and process integrity through implementation of MPS and daily/weekly process audits.\nDevelop processes and maintain integrity with respect to safety/ergonomics, quality, efficiency and cost effectiveness.\nPerform process capability studies and audits as required to maintain the highest level of product quality.\nInvestigate process/product problems and implement and verify effective countermeasures working in conjunction with Group Leaders, Team Leaders, Team Members and SQE, PPS, EVS, PE, PCS and development departments, utilizing the problem-solving process.\nEnsure the optimal condition of equipment and processes.\nEvaluate workstation layouts, prepare standard times which were determined by evaluation of standard and empirical data and validate process times to ensure optimized process design.\nPlan and prepare for product changes and their impact on processes, equipment, tooling, etc.\nParticipate in production trials with appropriate departments and verify closure of concerns.\nAssist in closing concerns generated from quality audits including GFP and CPA and from APA audits.\nGenerate equipment and tooling specifications.\nAssist in training for assembly team members, team leaders and group leaders on process changes.\nEvaluate alternative production processes and assess their viability.\nQualifications Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering OR related area or the equivalent combination of education and experience.\nMinimum of three (3) years\\' relevant professional experience in the following area(s):\nAutomotive engineering experience or equivalent engineering experience (i.e. process, maintenance, design and /or project management).\nRequired Skills Working knowledge of MS Office\nVery strong problem-solving skills in a cross-functional team environment\nExperience in the Automotive industry\nMust be a good Problem Solver in Manufacturing Environment\nPreferred Skills Excellent communication skills and the ability to work well within team environment\nGerman language skills\nAuto Cad\nPhysical Requirements Work is normally performed in an office, laboratory, manufacturing floor, or machine shop setting where physical work includes, but is not limited to sitting, standing, reaching, kneeling, bending, and lifting up to 25 lbs.\nMust be able to understand and comply with all relevant safety practices.\nFLSA Status/Working Schedule Location: Vance, AL\nSchedule: Day shift, 40h/w\nOvertime: as required\nAssignment Start: ASAP\nDuration: 1 year with annual renewal of contract\nDisclaimer This job description is a high-level overview of general expectations of this position.
