APTIM structural engineers lend their knowledge and experience to projects for the Department of Defense, the Department of Energy, the Federal Emergency Management Agency, local authorities (nationwide), commercial retail companies, oil and gas providers and various coastal protection authorities.\nExamples of engineering work include: building design, waterfront structures design, foundation design, existing structures evaluation and design (concrete, masonry, steel and heavy timber), design of temporary structures for construction activities, demolition planning, construction rigging and lifting plans, mechanical system structural support design, and aboveground storage tank systems.\nKey Responsibilities:\nA full understanding of structural engineering resolving a wide range of issues in creative ways.\nBroad application of principles, theories and concepts in structural engineering, plus working knowledge of other related fields.\nProvides resolution to a diverse scope and range of complex problems.\nDemonstrates good judgment in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions.\nDevelopment of project design basis, development of calculations, development of specifications, and performance of detailed engineering.\nEnsures conformance to applicable engineering codes and standards as well as company policies and procedures.\nContributes to a team environment.\nBasic Qualifications:\nRequires Bachelors Degree in Civil (or related degree). A Masters Degree in Structural Engineering is a plus.\n2-8 years related experience.\nStrong computer skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and technical engineering software such as STAAD or ANSYS), some CADD experience (Autocad and/or Microstation) along with good verbal and writing skills.\nEIT/FE and on path to obtain PE or SE.\nPE or SE is a plus\nNuclear experience is a plus\nFinite element analysis experience is a plus\nCandidates must be willing to travel for infrequent field assignments.\nABOUT APTIM\nAPTIM is committed to accelerating the transition toward a clean and efficient energy economy, building a sustainable future for our communities and natural world, and creating a more inclusive and equitable environment that celebrates the diversity of our communities.
