Journeyman Electrician – Commercial Solar & EV Installations

Role Summary
We are seeking a Licensed Journeyman Electrician to support our commercial solar PV projects across Texas, working under the supervision of a Master Electrician. From time to time, this role may also support EV-related installations within our EV division, including occasional out-of-state travel. You will play a critical role in ensuring electrical work is executed safely, efficiently, and in full compliance with applicable codes and standards.
Key Responsibilities
Perform electrical installation, wiring, and termination for commercial solar PV systems in compliance with NEC, local codes, and Master Electrician direction
Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical documentation
Maintain a strong safety-first mindset and actively support quality control standards
Collaborate with project managers, installers, and field teams to meet project schedules
Conduct system testing, troubleshooting, and commissioning support as required
Travel within Texas to support multiple project sites
Provide limited support (less than 20 percent) to EV operations when required
Communicate clearly and professionally with internal teams and on-site stakeholders
Deliver a high standard of workmanship and customer service on every job site
Qualifications
Valid Texas Journeyman Electrician License (required)
Valid Texas Driver’s License (required)
Legal authorization to work in the United States
Prior experience with commercial solar PV systems preferred
Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking abilities
Reliable, punctual, and detail-oriented
Ability to work effectively in a team-based field environment
Clear verbal and written communication skills
Knowledge & Skills
Strong understanding of electrical codes and compliance requirements
Familiarity with commercial PV system components and large-scale arrays
Experience with related construction trades such as conduit bending, metal framing, and basic carpentry
Ability to read and execute technical drawings and electrical schematics
Proficiency with electrical testing tools and troubleshooting methods
Ability to safely operate company vehicles, trucks, and trailers
Physical Requirements
Comfortable working at heights and on commercial rooftops
Ability to lift 50–75 pounds routinely and safely
Capable of bending, squatting, climbing, and working in physically demanding environments
Willingness to work outdoors in varying weather and temperatures ranging from 30 to 100+ degrees
