The ideal candidate will take pride in ensuring that all outdoor areas are well-kept, safe for students and staff, and aesthetically maintained year-round. Start Date: Anticipated Opening - Flexible Start Date Key ResponsibilitiesMaintain all district grounds, including lawns, athletic fields, playgrounds, and landscaped areasPerform mowing, edging, trimming, and seasonal plantingMaintain and line athletic fields in accordance with district schedules and event requirementsRemove snow and ice from walkways, driveways, and entrances (including early morning shifts when needed)Operate and maintain grounds equipment such as mowers, tractors, blowers, and trimmersPerform general maintenance tasks such as minor repairs, fence upkeep, and debris removalAssist with waste removal and recycling dutiesMonitor grounds for safety hazards and report issues promptlySupport custodial and facilities teams during special events and emergency situationsFollow all district safety procedures and OSHA regulations Qualifications Include:High school diploma or equivalent requiredPrevious groundskeeping, landscaping, or facilities experience preferredKnowledge of athletic field maintenance is a plusAbility to operate and perform basic maintenance on groundskeeping equipmentValid New Jersey driver's license requiredBlack Seal Low Pressure License preferred (or willingness to obtain)Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditionsMust be able to lift up to 50 lbs. and perform physically demanding workAdditional Requirements:Satisfactorily completed criminal history check, which include fingerprinting.
