Summer Seasonal - Mechanic Assistant - No Experience Required

The City of Maple Grove is seeking summer seasonals with all levels of experience to work a variety of maintenance tasks throughout the central equipment division in the Public Works Department. This is a great opportunity to develop essential skills, gain work experience, and develop lasting relationships.  As a summer seasonal, you will get to do hands-on work while helping in the upkeep and development of the City of Maple Grove. You will be able to enjoy the beautiful summer weather and you can invite friends to apply with you and spend your summers working with familiar faces! No experience is required as all training will be provided, returning seasonals also receive an annual increase!  Monday-Friday No evenings or weekends Open until filled* Central Equipment General maintenance, repair, and cleaning of equipment and vehicles  Maintain shop floors, tools, and shop equipment Operation of vehicles, motorized equipment, and shop equipment Pick up and deliver parts from vendors Ability to Perform physical labor in all types of weather conditions Lift up to 25lbs individually Interact with the public professionally  Report on time for scheduled shifts Follow work directions and expectations Need to have 18 years of age or older Valid Minnesota driver's license Ability to lift 25lbs All applicants selected for employment will need to successfully complete a background check.   WORKING CONDITIONS  Environmental Conditions Outdoor environment; work in all weather conditions; work closely with others.  Physical Conditions Essential and other important responsibilities and duties require standing and performing physical labor for prolonged periods of time; manual dexterity; adequate hearing, vision, and speech.
