{"schemaVersion":"jobsearcher.job.v1","id":"312faff9697288bd2b20b3ea","url":"https://jobsearcher.com/jobs/312faff9697288bd2b20b3ea","canonicalUrl":"https://jobsearcher.com/jobs/312faff9697288bd2b20b3ea","title":"Certification Engineer","description":"The Certification Engineer will assist with the development of project specific certification plans; assist with testing; maintain certification data files; and assist with tracking progress to ensure certification projects maintain schedule and budget as well as adhere to FAA, customer, and ART ODA standards.\n\nWhat You Will Be Responsible For\n\nWork with the ODA staff to review customer statements of work to develop certification compliance matrix for aircraft project specific certification plans.\n\nAssist with preparation of preliminary cost estimates, budgets, and implementation schedules; produce substantiation data, test plans, test reports, certification plans and other certification data in accordance with design documentation, regulatory requirements, and Company standards while following guidance from the ODA Procedures Manual.\n\nReview project certification data for completeness and compliance with applicable regulatory requirements.\n\nAssist with obtaining acceptance and approval of design and certification data as part of new Supplemental Type Certificate (STC) projects.\n\nParticipate in certification aspects of technical coordination and design review meetings with customers, FAA and ODA staff.\n\nExpand knowledge and expertise on aircraft development and testing techniques, FAA certification and the aerospace industry, in general.\n\nCoordinate with customers (internal and external), FAA, suppliers, and co-workers to promote and support the Company’s interests and our safety culture.\n\nCoordinate effectively with management, other departments, and co-workers to implement and monitor strategic company and departmental initiatives.\n\nMust be able to travel both domestically and internationally (10%).\n\nPerform all other duties and projects as assigned by the ODA Administrator Lead.\n\nQualifications\n\nBS degree in engineering or related scientific field. An equivalent level of experience may be substituted.\n\nMust be able to demonstrate the ability to learn and apply the scientific method to certification.\n\nMust be able to create, check, interpret and analyze technical data.\n\nMust be computer literate and be able to demonstrate proficiency with Microsoft Office programs.\n\nMust be a self-starter, highly motivated, able to learn quickly, and work under pressure with a minimum level of supervision.\n\nMust have effective written and verbal communication skills.\n\nMust be able to read, write, and understand the English language.\n\nPreferred\n\nKnowledge of Part 21 and Part 25 regulations and their application in the supplemental type certification process.\n\nPhysical Demands/Work Environment\n\nWhile performing the duties of this job, the employee may be regularly required to sit, stand, bend, reach and move about the facility.\n\nThe environmental characteristic for this position is an office setting.\n\nCandidates should be able to adapt to a traditional business environment.\n\nNormal office environment where approximately 70% of work is performed in a sitting position with the remaining time walking and moving around the office area.\n\nMust possess ability to maneuver around airplanes (i.e. climbing stairs, on work stands, man lifts, etc.).\n\nMust be able to occasionally work in an industrial environment subject to extreme temperatures and loud noises.\n\nDuties require normal mental and visual attention along with manual coordination for keyboard operations.\n\nDuties require typical bending, stooping, reaching, stretching, etc. with lifting typically limited to 10‑20 lbs. maximum.\n\nNormal or corrected hearing and vision are required.\n\nAAR provides accommodation in accordance with applicable laws through all stages of the hiring process.
