The ideal candidate will have at least 10 years of experience designing, integrating, and sustaining advanced Electronic Security Systems (ESS) for federal and DoD installations, both domestic and overseas.\n\nThis role requires proven expertise in Honeywell Vindicator and VICADS technologies or similar, as well as hands-on experience delivering compliant, mission-critical security solutions in complex, multi-national environments. Security+ is strongly preferred.\n\nThe engineer will serve as a technical leader in the design, integration, and certification of access control, intrusion detection, and video management systems for U.S. embassies, bases,\nand critical facilities worldwide.\n\nESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions of this position.\n\nDesign, engineer, and implement Electronic Security Systems (ESS), including access control, intrusion detection, perimeter defense, and video surveillance systems in accordance with U.S. government standards.\n\nAct as Subject Matter Expert (SME) on Honeywell Vindicator Command & Control (C2), Intrusion Detection System (IDS), and Access Control System (ACS).\n\nDevelop detailed engineering and design documentation, including system layouts, drawings, schematics, equipment lists, test plans and procedures, assembly procedures, and installation instructions for electronic security systems wiring diagrams, and equipment specifications that comply with government requirements.\n\nLead or support deployments — including design validation, installation oversight, and commissioning of systems for CONUS and OCONUS government facilities.\n\nEnsure all overseas implementations meet both U.S. federal security and host-nation regulatory standards.\n\nConduct site surveys, risk assessments, and system acceptance testing at CONUS and OCONUS project sites.\n\nCollaborate closely with project management, logistics, and in-country teams to ensure delivery within cost, schedule, and performance objectives.\n\nMaintain cybersecurity and information assurance compliance per NIST SP 800-171, DFARS 252.204-7012, and CMMC requirements.\n\nProvide technical input for proposals, cost estimates, and international project bids.\n\nSystem administration experience to perform triage on system problems, resolve the system problems, analyze system data to prevent problems, and implement new workstations and system extensions\n\nTrain and mentor junior engineers and field technicians in secure system design, testing, and sustainment.\n\nNON-ESSENTIAL DUTIES: Perform other duties as assigned\n\nEDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:\nBachelor's degree in engineering\nMinimum of 10 years of experience in Electronic Security System (ESS) design and integration for U.S. government or defense programs.\nVindicator Certification (required) with demonstrated hands-on experience configuring and commissioning Vindicator Command & Control systems.\nVICADS is strongly preferred.\nSecurity+ is strongly preferred.\nFamiliarity with DoD, and preferably DHS and DOS design and security criteria\nExperience in networked and IP-based security systems, structured cabling, and integrated command platforms.\nStrong understanding of U.S. federal contracting environments and technical documentation for government deliverables.\nStrong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills across hardware, software, and network layers.\nExcellent communication and cross-cultural collaboration abilities.\nStrong knowledge of secure communications, encryption, and cybersecurity practices.\n\nCOMPUTER SKILLS:\nSkill in operating a personal computer and standard office equipment\nProficient using Autodesk products to produce detailed design drawings necessary\nMust have proficiency in a variety of computer software applications in word processing and spreadsheets (MS Office: Word, Excel, PowerPoint)\n\nCERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS, CLEARANCE:\nMust be able to obtain and maintain an active DoD Secret security clearance\nHoneywell Vindicator Certified Engineer/Technician\n\nADDITIONAL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES:\nWorking knowledge and/or certification with electronic security manufacturers such as Vindicator, VICADS, HIRSCH, Lenel, Bosch, Pelco, Genetec, HID, and Axis.
