The Engineer will be responsible for implementing, managing, installing and upgrading our Red Hat Linux environments. The job duties will be performed on site at Langley Air Force Base, VA.\r\nResponsibilities\r\nResponsible for the administration and deployment of server hardware, RHEL 9 Operating Systems, and critical applications.\r\nDesign, develop, and maintain Ansible playbooks and roles for infrastructure automation.\r\nImplement and manage configuration management using Ansible across RHEL systems.\r\nAutomate deployments using Ansible Automation Platform, Terraform, and Packer.\r\nTroubleshoot and resolve complex issues in Ansible deployments and RHEL environments.\r\nOptimize existing Ansible code and RHEL configurations for improved performance and efficiency.\r\nCollaborate with other teams to integrate Ansible automation into CI/CD pipelines.\r\nManage and maintain RHEL systems, including patch management, upgrades, and security hardening.\r\nProvide technical leadership and mentorship to junior team members.\r\nStay current with industry trends, best practices, and developments in Ansible, RHEL, and related technologies.\r\nResearch emerging tools and technologies that help improve automation, security and performance.\r\nEnsure compliance with current security policies and remediations.\r\nProactively monitor and measure systems performance to detect trends and catch problems before users are impacted.\r\nWork closely with other support teams to ensure incident events are handled in a timely manner.\r\nAdminister and maintain Satellite/Capsule management systems.\r\nRoutinely apply security and application patches to systems and container images, ensuring that vulnerabilities are mitigated, and software operates effectively.\r\nHandle incoming technical escalations from Service Desk, Network Security Operations Center, Tier II, and other support teams.\r\nDocument and map architecture of the current RHEL environment and support the development of an Infrastructure Automation roadmap.\r\nAssist with retrospective related activities and support various efforts related to operational improvements.\r\nContribute to documentation in the Knowledge Base, Standard Operating Procedures, work instructions, and job aids.\r\nContinuously cross-train to also support other technical tasks and responsibilities.\r\nBasic Qualifications\r\nBachelor's degree in a related discipline or additional years of relevant experience considered in lieu of degree.\r\nMust have an active and current DoD TS/SCI Clearance.\r\n10+ years of Linux Administration.\r\nExperience with containerization products such as Podman, Docker, Kubernetes, RedHat OpenShift, or Rancher.\r\nExperience with configuration management systems like Puppet, Ansible, or Salt.\r\nHands-on experience with virtualization technologies.\r\nShell scripting experience with at least one scripting language: Bourne shell, sed, awk, Perl, or Python.\r\nUnderstanding of LDAP and SSO technologies.\r\nStrong focus on automation.\r\nFamiliar with writing Infrastructure as Code (IaC).\r\nStrong commitment to customer service and customer satisfaction.\r\nAbility to think strategically and proactively (rather than reactionary).\r\nAbility to work in a fast-paced, highly dynamic environment and \"learn on the job\".\r\nPreferred Qualifications\r\nDeep understanding of QEMU/KVM and RHEL networking.\r\nExpert in the Administration of Red Hat Satellite.\r\nExpert in the Administration and use of Ansible Automation Platform / Ansible Tower.\r\nPay Range\r\nPay Range: $92,300 - $166,850. The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary.
