Truck and Trailer Electrical/Wiring Technician
Job Description
MIRK INC. is a family owned and operated business. We have been in business since 1972. We are looking for a truck and trailer wiring technician to maintain, repair, and build aerial devices, trailers and other equipment commonly used in the utility industries (bucket trucks, diggers, and cranes). You will be responsible for wiring new builds, modifying existing vehicles, and repairing electrical systems. You will diagnose wiring harnessess, lighting, and electronic controls to make sure all vehicles are functional amd compliant with Department of Transportation (DOT) requirements.Check out the role overview below If you are confident you have got the right skills and experience, apply today.ResponsibilitiesElectrical Installation: Wire new trucks, tractor-trailers, and specialized equipment (e.g., utility trailers, digger derricks, bucket trucks, cranes, etc.) according to schematics.Lighting Systems: Install and repair marker lights, brake lights, turn signals, and strobe lights.Troubleshooting: Diagnose faulty wiring, broken connections, or incorrect wiring using electrical test meters (multimeters), voltmeters, and ammeters.Maintenence: Perform DOT inspections on rental equipment. Conduct system checks, functional testing and troubleshooting to ensure proper operation of hydraulic, electrical, and mechanical systems of rental equipment.Components & Harnesses: Fabricate, install, and repair wiring harnesses, batteries, starters, and alternators.Mechanical & Fabrication: Drill holes, run new wiring, solder connections, and mount electrical boxes.Compliance: Ensure all electrical work adheres to DOT and industry standards (e.g., ABS systems).Documentation: Maintain accurate records of repairs, parts used, and time spent on work orders. xhyhwjd RequirementsVery good communication skillsProblem-solving abilityUnderstand 12v/24v DC electrical systemsHigh school diploma is preferred; Certification from a vocational school or completion of apprenticeship is a definite plusMaintain a good attendance recordMIRK will provide on job training for interested applicantsRoutinely lift or carry 50lbs BenefitsAfter 90 days the following benefits are provided:Health Care Plan Retirement Plan (401k w/ company match)Paid HolidaysPaid Time Off Annual Tool Allowance Educational Reimbursement availableProfit SharingWe offer flexible scheduling.
