Apply via Dice today!Job id: 65552Client: TN DOHPosition: Administrative Services AssistantLocation: , Andrew Johnson Tower , Nashville, Tennessee 37243Duration: 12 Months (Possibility of Extension)Shift 1 : 8:00 AM to 4:30 PMRequired Pre-interview Survey:All candidates must complete the survey at Position Description:The Data Processing Specialist supports the Viral Hepatitis Program by accurately processing and maintaining hepatitis surveillance data in the National Electronic Disease Surveillance System (NEDSS) Based System (NBS).The role applies CDC/CSTE case definitions, identifies reportable case types, performs data cleaning and quality assurance, and collaborates with program and surveillance staff to support data integrity and public health reporting.Primary job duties will include, but are not limited to:Process and enter hepatitis B virus (HBV) and hepatitis C virus (HCV) laboratory and case data in NBSReview and manage assigned surveillance and document review queuesApply CDC/CSTE case definitions to determine case statusIdentify acute, reinfection, perinatal, infant, and fetal death casesPerform routine data cleaning and quality assuranceProcess paper, electronic, and orphaned laboratory reportsResolve data discrepancies and incomplete recordsCoordinate medical record requests as assignedCommunicate data issues and notable findings to the team leaderParticipate in required meetings, training, and team activitiesMinimum Qualifications:Education and Experience: High school diploma or equivalent required; data entry or data systems experience and medical or public health knowledge preferred.Necessary Special Qualifications:Ability to accurately enter and maintain confidential health data with strong attention to detail. Ability to follow detailed procedures and meet established data quality and performance standards. Ability to work collaboratively and communicate effectively. This includes addressing health disparities related to viral hepatitis.
