We're recruiting on behalf of a well-established client for a hands-on Environmental Manager to lead environmental programs at a complex, long-life site in Kearny, Arizona.This is a site-based leadership role with real influence—ideal for someone who thrives in regulated environments, enjoys working closely with operations, and can confidently engage with regulators, consultants, and senior leadership.The OpportunityAs Environmental Manager, you'll administer, oversee, and direct all environmental activities to ensure full compliance with federal, state, and local regulations. Reporting to the site leadership team, you'll play a key role in permitting, compliance strategy, audits, inspections, and long-term operational planning.You'll be both strategic and hands-on, translating complex data and regulations into clear guidance that supports safe, compliant, and efficient operations.What You'll Be Responsible ForLead environmental compliance with EPA, ADEQ, US Army Corps of Engineers, MSHA, and local agenciesManage and negotiate environmental permits, including new applications and modificationsAdvise senior leadership on environmental requirements for proposed and ongoing projectsSupervise environmental monitoring, sampling, data analysis, and compliance reportingDevelop and implement environmental compliance programs and management systems (EMS)Prepare and manage capital and operating budgets for environmental programsOversee consultants, contractors, and professional services related to environmental projectsLead environmental audits, inspections, and regulatory meetingsManage the Drinking Water System, including sampling, plans, and compliance activitiesPrepare environmental and emergency response plans and deliver environmental trainingSupport land use coordination, rights-of-way, leases, and community involvement initiativesParticipate in strategic planning for long-term mining operationsLead, mentor, and manage Environmental Department staffWhat We're Looking ForBachelor's degree in Environmental Engineering, Environmental Science, or related field (Civil, Geology, Chemistry, Earth Sciences also considered)6+ years of environmental engineering or environmental management experience , Open Pit Mining essential. ***Special note our client will consider a step change candidate.Deep knowledge of environmental laws, permitting, and compliance frameworksExperience with environmental sampling, monitoring, and technical reportingStrong technical writing and communication skillsSolid project management and organizational skillsWorking knowledge of mining, milling, and leaching processesProficiency with Microsoft Office toolsCertifications or experience related to Clean Water Act, Waste Management, Air Quality, and general environmental complianceEPA Method 9, RCRA, and MSHA training (or willingness to obtain after hire)English fluency at CEFR B2 (Upper Intermediate) or higherWhy This Role?High-impact leadership role at a major mining operationStrong compensation package with base salary up to $155k DOEOpportunity to work directly with operations and senior leadershipLong-term stability and meaningful environmental stewardshipJob Type: Full-timeBenefits:401(k)401(k) matchingDental insuranceHealth insuranceLife insuranceVision insuranceWork Location: In person
