This position will support the development, integration, deployment, and sustainment of mission-focused software across Sponsor networks and cloud environments. The DevOps Engineer will work across software development and infrastructure environments, leveraging Linux, scripting, virtualization, cloud technologies, secure data transfer, and DevOps practices to deliver reliable and maintainable solutions.\n\nResponsibilities:\nDevelop and modify application source code in response to new requirements and requests for change.\nProvide application bug fixes, enhancements, and Graphical User Interface (GUI) improvements to meet operational requirements.\nDevelop and deploy software, including within cloud environments.\nIntegrate externally developed code into core software libraries.\nInstall and configure application software.\nEvaluate third-party vendors and software partners.\nDesign and develop Representational State Transfer (REST) APIs.\nMaintain software library designs, including module APIs, code organization, and compliance with established coding standards.\nPromote modular software design, reuse of common code, clean interfaces between subsystems, and overall design integrity.\nCoordinate with configuration management personnel to integrate externally developed software into core software libraries.\nDevelop software for deployment across Sponsor networks.\nSupport software libraries and applications involving audio/video, image-processing algorithms, operating systems and file systems, and device drivers.\nAssist the Sponsor in developing standards, methods, and procedures for determining product quality and release readiness.\nConduct testing throughout all levels of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), including regression testing.\nAdhere to established software testing and quality procedures.\nPrepare required program-level and user-level technical documentation.\nCommunicate technical concepts and solutions effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.\nQualifications:\n\nRequired:\n\nAn Active TS/SCI with a FS Polygraph is required to be considered.\nBachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Mathematics, or another related scientific or technical discipline.\nMinimum of 2 years of professional software engineering experience, or a related master’s degree.\nDemonstrated on-the-job experience working with Linux operating systems and Bash shell scripting.\nSoftware development experience using Python, Java, or Ruby.\nExperience integrating Free and Open-Source Software (FOSS) and Commercial Off-the-Shelf (COTS) technologies.\nExperience working within virtualized infrastructure environments, such as VMware or AWS.\nExperience with customer DevOps tools such as GitHub.\nExperience working with PKI certificates, encryption protocols, and SSL/TLS.\nExperience with data exchange formats, including JSON and XML.\nExperience preparing required documentation, including program-level and user-level documentation.\nAbility to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders and work collaboratively within a team.\nGood understanding of data-transfer protocols, including FTP, SFTP, TFTP, HTTP, HTTPS, and QUIC.\n\nDesired:\n\nDemonstrated on-the-job experience with configuration management technologies such as Ansible, Puppet, or Chef.\nExperience with deployment and automation tools such as Jenkins.\nExperience implementing external authentication methods such as LDAP and Active Directory.\nExperience implementing and managing data encryption within secure environments.\nAdditional hands-on experience with Linux and Bash shell scripting.\nExperience with JIRA.\nExperience configuring and developing solutions within AWS environments.\nExperience working with SQL.\nExperience using Agile software development methodologies.\nExperience participating on an Agile software development or systems engineering team.\n\nSalary Range: USD $140,000.00 - USD $170,000.00 /Yr.\n\nThe Markon pay range for this position is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary.
