With operations across the U.S. and globally, we are committed to safety, innovation, and quality while building products our customers depend on every day.\n\nPrimary Functions:\n\nEnsure company compliance with all applicable federal, state and local regulations (OSHA/EPA/KDHE/DOT) as it pertains to employee safety, environmental compliance and proper storage and handling of hazardous materials and waste. Train employees in safety and environmental compliance. Develop a culture of environmental stewardship and personal safety within the staff. Oversee program implementation of the Maintenance Department.\n\nDuties and Responsibilities:\n\nEnsure that information on OSHA, EPA, and DOT, regulations are passed on to all employees.\nEnsure that initial and annual training (OSHA, EPA, and DOT) is given to all affected employees.\nEnsure that all written programs are updated when there are personnel, or physical changes that affect those programs.\nEnsure that all employees are trained to these changes.\nUpdate hazardous materials list and MSDS catalogs as needed to remain current.\nSupervise Safety Committee, meetings, accident investigations and reporting.\nEnsure that First Aid and CPR training is provided annually or when personnel changes occur.\nEnsure that this facility stays in compliance with all record keeping, reporting, and certification requirements of the Class I Air Operating Permit.\nEnsure that Tier II, Sec 312, Form R, Sec 313, Hazardous Waste Generation, Air Emissions, and any future Government mandated reports are filed in a timely manner.\nEnsure that DOT certification, special waste disposal permits, building permits, and any future permits are applied for, or reapplied for in a timely manner.\nEnsure that daily, weekly, monthly, semiannual and annual safety checks and inspections are performed per OSHA requirements.\nBe knowledgeable of all equipment used in the business of bus production.\nBe the emergency coordinator for the facility.\nBe on call 24/7 for emergency situations per EPA regulations.\nPerform other related duties as required.\nSchedule labor effectively to maximize productivity, plan parts, material and labor to accomplish set production goals, maintain safety and housekeeping, train employees, discipline employees as necessary.\nUnderstand and carry out oral and written directions in English.\nClose attention to detail.\nEstablish and maintain cooperative working relationships with those in contact on a day to day basis.\nMeet minimum standards of safety per assigned department.\nMeet minimum standards of housekeeping per assigned department.\nBe compliant with all the rules of conduct and attendance per the company handbook.\nPerform required hazardous waste inspections and reporting per EPA requirements.\nSign manifests for hazardous waste shipments.\n\nQualifications/Training:\n\nHazardous Waste Contingency Planning training annually.\nAbility to read, write comprehend, and verbally communicate simple instructions, short correspondence and memos in English.\nAbility to read and understand engineering drawings, blue prints, assembly drawing, schematics and other written or verbal instructions presented in English.\nAbility to read English and Metric tape measures and use measuring devices.\nAbility to perform all operations within acceptable quality and time standards.\nAbility to recognize quality expected and be able to reproduce it.\nAbility to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to other employees of the organization.\nUnderstand fundamental use of various pneumatic and power tools. Must be familiar with the operation of various tools- i.e. drill, screw gun, sander, jig saw, etc.\nMust have working knowledge of OSHA, EPA, and DOT regulations.\nMust receive initial and annual RCRA, and HAZWOPER training to be a certified trainer\nMust be familiar with all applicable Federal, State, and Local regulations as they pertain to Collins Bus Corporation’s manufacturing processes.\nMust have good mechanical skills.\nMust have self motivational skills.\nMust have working knowledge of production equipment.\nMust be able to speak in front of a large group of people or class.\nMust receive DOT training every 3 years to be a certified trainer.\n\nPhysical Demands:\n\nThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
