This role ensures the stability, performance, and interoperability of system components spanning infrastructure, applications, and services. The Systems Engineer works closely with development, integration, and operations teams to troubleshoot issues, maintain reliable environments, and support end-to-end system functionality.RequirementsU.S Citizenship required.Must be able to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearanceThis position is remote but may require occasional onsite meetings in McLean, VA.You can be based out of following states: AZ, DC, FL, GA, OH, ME, MD, SC, TX, UT, VA, NC, OK, WV.Qualifications And ExperienceBachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.At least 8 years of experience in systems engineering, application operations, or integration support roles.Experience supporting applications built with Java 17+, Spring Boot, and Spring WebFlux.Experience supporting Kafka, Redis, and Oracle DB in an operational context.Experience supporting containerized environments using Kubernetes and Docker.Familiarity with frontend technologies such as React or Next.js for end-to-end system support.Experience using GitHub for source control and collaboration.Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills.Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively across teams.Ability to manage multiple priorities in production and pre-production environments.Preferred QualificationsExperience supporting distributed, service-oriented architectures.Experience operating systems across multiple environments (development, test, production).Experience working in regulated or enterprise environmentsResponsibilitiesSystem Integration and Operations Support:Support system-level integration across services, data stores, and messaging components.Ensure interoperability and correct interaction between application and platform components.Environment And Platform ManagementSupport environment management across containerized platforms using Kubernetes and Docker.Assist with environment configuration, deployment readiness, and operational stability.Application Operations SupportSupport applications developed using Java 17+, Spring Boot, and Spring WebFlux.Troubleshoot application-level issues impacting availability, performance, or functionality.Messaging, Data, And Caching OperationsSupport Kafka-based messaging and event flows.Support Redis caching components and Oracle DB-backed data stores.Performance, Stability, And ReliabilityMonitor system behavior and assist in identifying performance, capacity, and stability issues.Support remediation activities to maintain reliable system operations.Troubleshooting And Issue ResolutionTroubleshoot issues across infrastructure, applications, and services.Coordinate with engineering and operations teams to diagnose root causes and implement fixes.Collaboration And Cross-Team SupportWork closely with developers, system engineers, and operations teams to support delivery and sustainment.Provide operational input to integration and release activities.Documentation And Operational ReadinessMaintain documentation related to environments, configurations, and operational procedures.Support development and maintenance of runbooks and operational reference materials.Continuous ImprovementIdentify recurring operational issues and recommend improvements to configurations or processes.Support efforts to improve reliability and maintainability of middleware services.Compensation And BenefitsAt NDi, we value our team and are committed to retaining top talent by offering competitive benefits and compensation packages.
