Senior Communications Systems Specialist
OverviewGovCIO is currently hiring for a Senior Communications Systems Specialist to Analyze, evaluate, and recommend solutions to future communications and operational challenges for various satellite systems. This position will be located in San Antonio, TX and will be an onsite position.ResponsibilitiesProvides installation, technical expertise, and training for all telecommunications equipment and components. Installs, configures, terminates and tests all telecommunications equipment, cables, connectors, and interfaces. Performs intricate alignment and calibration procedures to ensure telecommunication systems are operating efficiently. Maintains telecommunication equipment and component inventory, asset management, media production equipment and facilities as well as fixed installations at various company and/or client sites. Resolves system operational problems by troubleshooting and performing fault isolation. May supervise telecommunications technicians, outside contractors providing technical support and media production services.Responsible for engineering and/or installation activities within the telecommunications function including network design, engineering, implementation, diagnostics and operations/user support.Monitors the operation of telecommunication network systems and transition mediums.Serves as technical specialist for the resolution of complex network problems.Provides field reporting as required.Track SATCOM terminals movement for the customerManage satellite airtimeQualificationsHigh School with 9+ years (or commensurate experience)Required Skills And ExperienceClearance Required: Active TS/SCI Experience with DoD NIPR, SIPR and AFSCI NetworksDoD 8140 IAT II certifcation Ability to provied 24/7 supportExperience with MILSATCOM and Commercial Satellite terminalsCommunication PlanningPreferred Skills And ExperienceKnowledge of application transport and network infrastructure protocolsGood analytical and problem-solving skillsAbility to implement, administer, and troubleshoot network infrastructure devicesA self-starter able to work independently but comfortable working in a team environment#NSS#DLPosted Salary Range: USD $95,000.00 - USD $100,000.00 /Yr.
