This role operates with a high degree of autonomy, serves as a subject matter expert in database and query performance, and influences data standards, architecture decisions, and best practices across teams.\nEssential Functions\nDesign, develop, and maintain advanced SQL queries, views, functions, and stored procedures supporting mission-critical systems\nInstall, configure, and maintain Microsoft SQL Server instances\nOptimize database and query performance through indexing, execution plan analysis, and schema improvements\nLead complex data modeling and transformation efforts for transactional and analytical use cases\nEnsure data accuracy, integrity, and consistency across databases and data pipelines\nPartner with engineering, ETL, BI, and product teams to define scalable data solutions\nTroubleshoot and resolve complex data quality, performance, and reliability issues\nEstablish and promote SQL development standards, best practices, and documentation\nContribute to architecture reviews and long-term data platform strategy\nSupport data governance, security, and compliance requirements, including those applicable to regulated environments\nKnowledge, Skills, and Abilities\nExpert-level proficiency in SQL, including complex joins, CTEs, window functions, and performance tuning\nDeep understanding of relational database design, normalization, indexing, and query optimization\nExperience with Microsoft Azure\nStrong experience working with large datasets and complex schemas\nAbility to design scalable, high-performance data solutions\nStrong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills\nAbility to influence technical standards and mentor peers\nEffective communication skills with both technical and business stakeholders\nEducation and Experience\nBachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent experience\nSignificant experience in SQL engineering, data engineering, or database development\nDemonstrated ability to independently lead complex technical work\nConditions & Scope\nThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
