This role is responsible for setting up, operating, and monitoring CNC lathes to produce high-precision aerospace components. The CNC Turning Operator plays a critical role in ensuring product quality, adherence to engineering specifications, and compliance with industry standards in a fast-paced, safety-focused environment.\nKey Responsibilities\nSet up and operate CNC turning machines (lathes/VTL) to produce precision aerospace components per engineering drawings and traveler documentation.\nRead and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and GD&T requirements.\nPerform inspections using precision measuring instruments such as micrometers, calipers, dial indicators, bore gauges, and optical comparators.\nMonitor machine operations and make adjustments to ensure dimensional accuracy and quality.\nPerform routine machine maintenance, including tool changes, offsets, and minor troubleshooting.\nComplete required documentation and maintain accurate production records in compliance with AS9100 standards.\nCollaborate with supervisors, engineering, and quality teams to resolve machining issues.\nFollow all company safety and quality policies, contributing to a culture of continuous improvement.\nRequired Qualifications & Skills\nEducation: High school diploma or equivalent required.\nExperience: Minimum of 2+ years of CNC lathe or CNC turning experience in a manufacturing environment.\nAbility to read and interpret technical drawings and shop documentation.\nProficiency in the use of precision measuring tools.\nStrong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail.\nAdditional Information\nAerospace industry experience is preferred.\nFamiliarity with Fanuc CNC controls is a plus.\nKnowledge of AS9100, NADCAP, or other regulated manufacturing standards is beneficial.\nExperience with Lean manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives is desirable.\nWork environment includes a manufacturing setting with exposure to machinery, noise, and shop-floor activity.\nAbility to stand, bend, and lift up to 40 lbs as required.\nMay require second shift, overtime, or weekend work based on business needs.\nApplication Process\nQualified candidates may apply through ADP or submit their résumé via the company’s careers page.\nEqual Opportunity Employer Statement\nElectro-Methods is an equal opportunity employer.
