Crypto Compliance AML Analyst

Job Description: Conduct AML and fraud monitoring across fiat and crypto transactions, including deep-dive investigations into complex or high-risk activityAnalyze blockchain transactions and wallet behavior to identify suspicious patterns and exposure to illicit activityPerform customer due diligence (CDD) and enhanced due diligence (EDD), including evaluating source of funds/wealth and crypto-specific risk factorsIndependently investigate potentially suspicious activity and draft clear, well-supported internal escalation reports and/or Unusual Activity Reports (UARs)Support KYC/KYB processes, including onboarding reviews and periodic customer refreshesMonitor direct and indirect blockchain exposure with high-risk and severe-risk categories, including screening wallet addresses and counterparties eMaintain thorough documentation, audit trails, and case records in line with regulatory expectationsPartner with Product and Engineering to refine transaction monitoring rules, improve alert quality, and enhance crypto compliance toolingStay current on evolving crypto regulations, enforcement trends, and typologies (e.g., mixers, sanctions evasion, DeFi exploits)Requirements: Experience in AML, compliance, fraud, or risk operations (fintech, crypto, banking, or payments preferred)Strong understanding of AML frameworks, including transaction monitoring, SAR/UAR processes, KYC/KYB, and sanctions complianceSolid understanding of blockchain fundamentals (wallets, transactions, token flows, DeFi) and common crypto risk typologiesAbility to independently investigate and resolve complex cases with sound judgmentStrong analytical skills with attention to detail across both on-chain and off-chain dataClear, concise written communication, especially in investigative documentationComfortable operating in a fast-paced startup environment with evolving regulatory expectationsHigh integrity and sound judgment when handling sensitive financial and blockchain data.Nice to have (but not required):Experience with blockchain analytics tools (e.g., Chainalysis, TRM Labs, Elliptic)ACAMS certificationBenefits: Remote opportunity!
