{"schemaVersion":"jobsearcher.job.v1","id":"2ff2117260cf4560058dfcb0","url":"https://jobsearcher.com/jobs/2ff2117260cf4560058dfcb0","canonicalUrl":"https://jobsearcher.com/jobs/2ff2117260cf4560058dfcb0","title":"Structured Cabling Technician","description":"Structured Cabling Technician\nMelbourne, FL\n\nType: Contract To Hire\nCompensation: $22 - $30/hr\nWork Model: Onsite – onsite\nHours: 40.0 hours per week\n\nSystem One is seeking a Structured Cabling Technician to join our team for a contract to hire opportunity in Melbourne, FL.\n\nResponsibilities\nInstall horizontal structured cabling in commercial and construction environments, including Cat6, fiber, coax, and related cabling systems.\nInstall backbone and OSP (Outside Plant) cabling.\nPull, route, dress, and secure cable according to project specifications and industry standards.\nTerminate copper and fiber cabling, including patch panels, jacks, connectors, and other network infrastructure.\nTest and certify installed cabling using appropriate testing equipment.\nTroubleshoot connectivity issues, cable faults, and installation deficiencies.\nRead and interpret blueprints, floor plans, cable schedules, and installation drawings.\nMaintain clean and organized work areas and follow all applicable safety requirements.\nWork closely with project managers, general contractors, electricians, and other trades to complete installations on schedule.\n\nPreferred Qualifications\nPrevious experience installing structured cabling in commercial, industrial, or construction environments.\nExperience with Cat5e/Cat6/Cat6A, fiber optic, and coaxial cabling.\nExperience with cable termination, testing, certification, and troubleshooting.\nFiber termination and splicing experience is highly preferred.\nAV installation experience is a plus.\nAbility to read blueprints and follow installation plans.\nAbility to work independently and as part of a team.\nStrong attention to detail and commitment to quality and safety.\nAbility to work on ladders, lifts, and in construction environments as required.\nFiber testing and certification.\nFiber termination/splicing.\nFluke testing equipment.\nCopper cable testing.\nBackbone/OSP installation.\nCommercial structured cabling.\nConstruction-site experience.\n\nWork Environment\nCommercial and construction environments.\nMay require working from ladders, lifts, ceilings, and other elevated areas.\nMay require travel to project sites depending on project needs.\nPhysical ability to lift and move cabling, tools, and equipment as required.\nSystem One, and its subsidiaries including Joulé and Mountain Ltd., are leaders in delivering outsourced services and workforce solutions across North America.
