This role evaluates special requests, executes mechanical design, updates firmware/software, and coordinates with internal teams to deliver customer-specific modifications. This role, as necessary and applicable, will support roadmap initiatives driving innovation at Gilson INC.\n\nESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES\n\nReceive incoming requests for custom hardware and applications, work with sales, customers, and engineering to determine requirements of the request.\n\nDesign the system architecture based on the requirements of the request to determine areas for custom development and/or the use of existing product.\n\nAssist in the feasibility assessment and the decision to approve or reject the request.\n\nWork with management to allocate available resources within the group to approved Specials projects.\n\nTrack Specials projects and manage timelines to ensure timely delivery to customers.\n\nDesign mechanical parts and assemblies primarily for (but not limited to) Gilson Specials.\n\nAssist engineers, designers, and the product design teams in all aspects of mechanical design. Examples include component and enclosure design; packaging and manufacturability considerations; prototype fabrication and assembly.\n\nInteract with existing vendors and develop new vendor relationships to purchase standard products or develop custom products.\n\nGenerate product documentation.
