Front Desk/Gate Attendant (PT-Temporary/Seasonal)
Gate Attendant The Gate Attendant is responsible for providing a point of contact for walk-in traffic, collecting admission fees, granting access to the aquatic facility, and supporting the highest levels of customer service for participants, staff, and visitors. Provides information to customers regarding the facility hours, admission fees and passes, and general information about the KAC.Essential Functions The following duties are normal for this job. These are not to be construed as exclusive or all-inclusive. Other duties may be required and assigned.Greets and collects admission fees to the aquatic facility.Answers the telephone and gives specific or general information in response to public or official inquiries.Addresses inquiries for requests for services, complaints, and other public contact work.Receives receipts and deposits money from citizens and maintains accurate records of transactions.Sells POS items, memberships, and merchandise.Registers guests for various programs.Opens and/or closes gate booth/front desk according to standard procedures.Maintains a safe environment by monitoring patron traffic; uses good judgment in contacting appropriate personnel as needed.Maintains a professional and personable demeanor while working with participants, staff, and visitors.Ability to communicate pertinent information to the appropriate supervisor.Must have general knowledge of cash handling and point of sale cash register operations.All other duties as assignedWorking Conditions:Indoor and some outdoorIrregular work shifts weekday, mornings, mid-day, evenings, weekends, and holidaysQualifications Requirements:16 or older.The City of Kingsport does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, religion, creed, ethnicity, national origin, sex, disability, age, status as a protected veteran, or any other class protected by Federal or State laws and regulations.
