Someone who views infrastructure as a vehicle for the application and is ready to be the absolute technical authority in a room where Google and ChatGPT don't exist.The Role: The Essential BridgeThis is a high-autonomy position designed for an engineer who thrives on \"boots-on-the-ground\" integration.Tactical Integration: You will lead the deployment of specialized intelligence software onto bare-metal hardware (RHEL/Windows) within isolated government facilities.No-Lifeline Engineering: When deployments hit an OS or configuration snag in a SCIF, you are the one who opens a terminal and scripts the solution from scratch (Bash/Python) without external resources.Infrastructure Evolution: When not in the field, you will work remotely to drive the architecture roadmap, moving the platform toward a fully distributed, containerized environment using Kubernetes and Terraform.Deployment Ownership: Act as the primary technical liaison between the core engineering team and the tactical end-users during critical testing cycles.The Operational RhythmHybrid Flow: This is a remote-first role. However, approximately every 8 weeks, you will travel to a secure installation in Southern Maryland for a one-week integration event.Autonomy: You are trusted to hold the line. There is zero micromanagement; you own the outcome of every field deployment.The Profile I’m Looking For:Hardware/OS Literacy: You have deep experience with bare-metal Linux (RHEL) and Windows. You understand how an OS interacts with hardware at a fundamental level.Scripting Grit: You are a \"command-line first\" engineer.
