This role is heavily focused on test automation, lab bring-up, and data-driven validation of RF hardware in fast-paced development environments.\r\nYou will work closely with RF, avionics, software, and manufacturing engineers to develop automated test infrastructure, improve test efficiency, and support RF system integration and characterization from prototype through production.\r\nThis is an ideal opportunity for someone interested in combining RF engineering fundamentals with software and automation tools to enable scalable hardware testing.\r\nResponsibilities\r\nDevelop and maintain automated RF test scripts and validation tools using Python or similar scripting languages\r\nSupport RF hardware bring-up, integration, characterization, and troubleshooting in laboratory environments\r\nAssist with development of automated test stations for RF components and subsystems including amplifiers, filters, LNAs, mixers, and transceivers\r\nInterface with RF test equipment such as spectrum analyzers, vector network analyzers (VNAs), signal generators, power meters, and oscilloscopes\r\nExecute RF validation and performance testing, collect data, and analyze results against system requirements\r\nSupport design verification efforts through test procedure development and documentation\r\nCollaborate cross-functionally with RF, avionics, software, and manufacturing teams to improve test workflows and system reliability\r\nAssist with RF schematic review, hardware debug, and manufacturing support activities as needed\r\nMinimum Qualifications\r\nCurrently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Physics, or a related technical discipline\r\nHands-on experience working in an electronics or RF lab environment\r\nUnderstanding of RF and microwave fundamentals including transmission lines, impedance matching, S-parameters, gain, noise figure, and filtering\r\nFamiliarity with common RF test equipment such as VNAs, spectrum analyzers, and signal generators\r\nExperience troubleshooting PCBs or embedded hardware at the board or system level\r\nBasic programming or scripting experience in Python, MATLAB, or similar languages\r\nPreferred Skills and Experience\r\nExperience developing automated hardware test scripts or lab automation tools\r\nFamiliarity with SCPI, PyVISA, or automated instrument control frameworks\r\nExperience with RF simulation tools such as ADS, CST, or HFSS\r\nExperience testing RF components such as PAs, LNAs, filters, or antennas\r\nFamiliarity with data analysis and visualization tools\r\nExperience working on multidisciplinary engineering teams with both hardware and software engineers\r\nFamiliarity with Altium Designer or PCB design workflows\r\nAdditional Requirements\r\nWilling and able to work on-site in Redondo Beach, CA for the duration of the internship\r\nThis role may require overtime hours; interns are eligible for overtime pay\r\nAdditional Information\r\nCompensation bands are determined by role, level, location, and alignment with market data. Individual level and base pay is determined on a case-by-case basis and may vary based on job-related skills, education, experience, technical capabilities and internal equity.
