And whoever we’re with, whatever we’re doing, we always make it real.\n\nPosition Summary\n\nReporting to the Maintenance Manager the Industrial Maintenance Mechanic will maintain production and quality by ensuring operation of machinery and mechanical equipment at the Plant and Port Warehouse. This role is responsible for on-shift equipment and facility maintenance, repair, and on-the-spot troubleshooting support. As part of the Maintenance Team, the Industrial Maintenance Mechanic will work to improve equipment efficiency and throughput by supporting improvement projects and performing preventative maintenance.\n\nPosition Responsibilities\nEnsures operation of machinery and mechanical equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements on engines, motors, pneumatic tools, conveyor systems, and production machines; following diagrams, sketches, operations manuals, manufacturer's instructions, and engineering specifications; troubleshooting malfunctions.\nLocates sources of problems by observing mechanical devices in operation; listening for problems; using precision measuring and testing instruments.\nRemoves defective parts by dismantling devices; using hoists, cranes, and hand and power tools; examining form and texture of parts.\nDetermines changes in dimensional requirements of parts by inspecting used parts; using rules, calipers, micrometers, and other measuring instruments.\nAdjusts functional parts of devices and control instruments by using hand tools, levels, plumb bobs, and straightedges.\nControls downtime by informing production workers of routine preventive maintenance techniques; monitoring compliance.\nFabricates repair parts by using machine shop instrumentation and equipment.\nMaintains equipment, parts, and supplies inventories by checking stock to determine inventory level; anticipating needed equipment, parts, and supplies; placing and expediting orders; verifying receipt.\nConserves maintenance resources by using equipment and supplies as needed to accomplish job results.\nProvides mechanical maintenance information by answering questions and requests.\nPrepares mechanical maintenance reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.\nMaintains technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing technical publications; establishing personal networks.\nMaintains continuity among work teams by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needs.\nMaintains safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.\nContributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.\nPerform other duties as assigned.\n\nPosition Requirements\nHigh school diploma or post-secondary certificate required\nMinimum of 1-2 years of experience repairing industrial equipment is required\nAbility to become forklift certification is required\nHACCP certification is preferred\nProven ability to communicate effectively, both verbal and written is required. Ability to communicate with levels across the organization will be required.\nIdeal candidate will have the desire to problem-solve and continually improve Olam’s products and services.\nWillingness to work long days. Flexibility with work hours and location will be required\nWhile performing the duties of this Job, the employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts. The employee is occasionally exposed to high, precarious places, fumes or airborne particles, outside weather conditions, extreme cold, extreme heat and risk of electrical shock. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
