The position requires completing customer installations, service visits, on-site troubleshooting, and recovery of equipment. Work is performed on site at customer locations both with a physical aspect of installing Internet equipment, as well as a technical portion of updating databases.\nEssential Functions:\nReasonable accommodations will be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.\nPerform site surveys for potential customers to evaluate serviceability.\nDiagnose customer problems at service calls and restore functional service to existing customers.\nInstall new customers with Internet service based on technology available, which includes mounting equipment at or above roof height, running Cat5-E or Fiber Optic cable from outside to the customer’s desired location.\nConfigure routers and customer computers for access to Internet services.\nPerform equipment upgrades for existing customers\nPerform other duties as assigned\nSkills:\nMust be professional in dress, speech, and manner.\nAbility to work independently, using sound judgement principles.\nMust demonstrate accountability in order to set priorities, organize workload, handle multiple responsibilities, and meet deadlines.\nAbility to work within a fast-paced, high-change environment while managing multiple interruptions and adjustments to priorities throughout the day.\nMust demonstrate a desire to learn, supported with a love for technology.\nMust pass a drug screening test and a criminal background check.\nMust be able to use tools to install equipment.\nEducation and Experience:\nHigh school diploma or GED equivalent required.\nJob Classification:\nField Operations – Installation\nNon-Exempt\nWork Environment /Hazards:\nWorking in outdoor elements such as cold, hot, precipitation and wind\nIn proximity of heavy machinery and moving vehicles\nModerate noise level\nUse of PPE\nWorking in elevated places such as towers\nPhysical Demands:\nFrequently moving, transporting, positioning objects of at least 60 pounds or more\nAscending or descending ladders, stairs, scaffoldings, ramps, poles and the like, using feet and legs and/or hands and arms\nMust be able to climb roof tops of all types and to perform job duties from high places.\nMust be able to pull own body weight plus equipment weight up roofs and vertical tower repeatedly\nFrequently required to stand, walk, stoop, sit, and climb ladders and communication towers and work in an elevated position\nFrequently required to use hand and power tools\nMust have the ability to climb extended heights upwards of 200 feet\nEmployee weight and tools combines may not exceed 300-pound limit as specified by the manufacturer of safety equipment.\nWorking Hours/Days:\n40 hours minimum, flexible schedule\nOvertime as needed\nOn Call as needed\nTravel Requirements:\n0-40% travel required\nAffirmative Action (AAP/EEO Statement):\nNextlink is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
