Senior Manager of Sock Design
Job OverviewWe are seeking a creative and detail-oriented Senior Manager of Sock Design to join our design team. This role will be responsible for developing innovative sock designs across multiple categories while collaborating closely with cross functional partners to bring concepts from idea to final product. This role requires a keen eye for detail, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with the various teams to ensure the highest quality of design and production.Key ResponsibilitiesDesign and develop seasonal sock collections across all gendersCreate original artwork, patterns, colorways, and graphics aligned with brand identity and market trendsDevelop detailed tech packs, including yarns, stitches, colors, measurements, and construction detailsCollaborate with Sales, Merchandising, PD and Production teams to ensure designs meet cost, quality, and timeline requirementsRevise designs based on internal feedback, buyer comments, and production needsResearch trends, materials, and competitive products to inform design directionEnsure all designs are production-ready and meet quality standardsCommunicate effectively with vendors to ensure timely and accurate production of designsCollaborate with technical designers on sample revisions and final product approvalManage multiple design projects simultaneously, focusing on seasonal and early development timelinesAssist with trend forecasting and research to keep designs fresh and competitiveWork closely with the director to ensure all design needs are metQualificationsBachelor's degree in Fashion Design, Textile Design, or a related field preferred5-8 years of experience in knitwear design, preferably with a strong focus on socksStrong understanding of sock construction, yarns, gauges, and knitting techniquesStrong technical skills in CAD sketches and technical sketchesProficiency in Adobe CC Suite, Microsoft Office Suite and PLMStrong sense of color, pattern, and trend awarenessExcellent organizational skills and attention to detailAbility to manage multiple projects and meet tight deadlinesStrong communication and collaboration skillsThe salary range for this New York based role is $100,000 to $125,000. Base salaries are determined during the interview process by evaluating a candidate's experience, skills, and alignment with internal peers, as well as the scope and responsibilities of the position.
