Job Description Oppenheimer & Co. Inc. is seeking a Senior Director to join our Financial Planning team within the Asset Management Department. The Senior Director is responsible for serving as a value‑added extension of a financial professional’s practice, partnering with financial professionals to deliver an industry‑leading client experience on all things related to goals‑based planning, and promoting, educating and coaching the firm’s financial professionals on Oppenheimer’s financial planning capabilities. The position reports to the Managing Director and Head of Financial Planning and may be based at any of the following locations: Chicago, Houston, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Seattle, or New York City. Responsibilities Engage with financial professionals to develop business opportunities with new and existing clients via Oppenheimer’s goals‑based financial planning process Educate financial professionals on best practices for integrating these capabilities into their business practices Attend, participate, and/or lead client discovery and/or plan presentation meetings in collaboration with the financial professional Drive, partner, or serve as a consultant on development of an actual plan for presentation when appropriate Speak and present at seminars, webinars, and presentations, including to large groups on financial‑planning topics Serve as a subject‑matter expert for financial professionals and affluent UHNW clients on topics related to financial planning, remaining knowledgeable of regulatory and legal changes Build strong, trustworthy, value‑driven relationships with financial professionals, branch managers, business partners and senior management to promote financial planning Act as a bridge to the firm’s product platforms such as Oppenheimer Asset Management, Oppenheimer Life Agency, and Oppenheimer Trust Company of Delaware Qualifications Minimum 7 years’ experience in financial services, including financial planning, goals‑based investing, advisory programs, insurance, annuities and retirement strategies Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, accounting or a related field FINRA Registration: Series 7 and 66 (or 63 and 65) Active state life and health insurance license Knowledge of branch functionality and advisor/client relationship preferred Experience with MoneyGuidePro or similar financial‑planning software Willingness to travel 10–25% of the year Self‑starter, enthusiastic, capable of working closely with financial professionals and other team members Ability to manage multiple planning opportunities concurrently High ethical standards, client‑first focus Exceptional presentation skills for audiences ranging from 1–2 individuals to over 50 Passion for coaching, training and educating colleagues of varying experience levels Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office Strong attention to detail Compensation Base salary range: $130,000–$150,000 per year (New York State estimate).
